This trip starts off, after a ferry from Mahé, at the little island of La Digue where you can join the Seychellois people in a decidedly unhurried existence. It's the perfect spot to unwind, relax and fall into the leisurely rhythm of the place.
You’ll find very few cars here and the roads are mostly flat, which makes exploring the island by bicycle a pleasure. Pack your supplies for the day, then set off to find a secluded beach. Be sure to include a visit to one of Seychelles most stunningly photogenic beaches. This is, of course, if you can persuade yourself to leave the luxury of your villa at the Domaine De la Orangerie, the smartest hotel on this small island.
Returning to Mahé, the largest island in the Seychelles, you'll find space and privacy between the Indian Ocean and its green slopes. Constance Ephelia is your base here, a large resort that’s well spread out; with easy access to two lovely beaches, several pools and numerous restaurants, it never feels crowded.
You could easily fill your days in-resort – swimming, snorkelling, kayaking or windsurfing – or zen out with yoga lessons or a pampering spa treatment. Or hire a car and explore the island. You might want to include the colourful market in Victoria or visit the small artist studios dotted around. Hiking is also popular on the island, with trails through protected areas of the spectacular mountains at its centre.
