Kwandwe Self-drive Safari

An elegantly stylish lodge that is well suited to families, Kwandwe offers a range of safari activities and the chance to sight all of the "Big 5" during exploration of the Eastern Cape.

Kwandwe Self-drive Safari: Summary

Kwandwe Self-drive Safari in a nutshell

This safari visits Kwandwe Ecca Lodge in South Africa's Kwandwe Game Reserve, a small and impressively stylish safari lodge.

Alongside its modern design and the considerable luxury offered, Kwandwe is an excellent lodge for families. The three family suites are well equipped to accommodate parents travelling with children whilst the quality of service and flexibility with dining works well for travellers of all ages. What is more, a private vehicle, ranger and tracker are included in the rate for every family suite booking.

The atmosphere is never intimidating yet feels decidedly elegant, making it an attractive destination for most travellers. Being situated on a private game reserve, there are also a range of available activities to enjoy, from day and night game drives to bush walks, fishing and boat rides on the nearby Galpin Dam. Extra activities such as rhino-darting and monitoring can also be pre-booked and added for an additional cost.

Kwandwe Game Reserve is one of the best in the area, offering a great diversity of vegetation and birdlife. Rarer species such as the black stork, martial eagle, kori bustard and Stanley’s bustard live in the reserve, whilst the presence of both black and white rhino make sightings of all of the "Big 5" possible.

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge is a beautiful standalone destination, yet also works well combined with a section of the Garden Route. This combination provides a wonderful overview and sense of South Africa’s eastern cape, involving excellent wildlife and a high level of care.
