Tawny Eagle Safari in a nutshell
This immersive fly-in safari features two smartly rustic bushcamps within Laikipia and the private Naboisho Conservancy.
Beginning at the homely and informal Ol Pejeta Bush Camp, the trip starts with a chance to see the world’s last remaining northern white rhino, located in a nearby sanctuary. Populations of both black and white rhino are generally good here, allowing for fair chance of sighting all of the Big 5 when out on exploratory day game drives. Sweetwaters Chimpanzee refuge is also close and well worth a visit, housing more than 40 chimps that live in two troops separated by the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Similarly modest yet lacking nothing comfort, Encounter Mara is a classic tented camp which sits beside a vast open plain. Here, day and night drives are possible as well as guided walking safaris or full-day safaris into the neighbouring Maasai Mara National Reserve. As Naboisho’s wildlife is consistently excellent though, guests might prefer to remain on the conservancy and explore the Mara ecosystem in comparable exclusivity.
Both camps are run by the same experienced safari operator and share high standards as well as a first-class quality of guiding. Whilst the camps are slightly simpler than others in the region, the level of care remains superb and guests are able to enjoy a wonderfully intimate experience from classically authentic bases.

Northern White Rhinos visit

Visit the Endangered Species Enclosure at Ol Pejeta Conservancy for a close encounter with the last two remaining northern white rhinos. You can visit either by game drive vehicle or visit on horseback if you're an experienced rider. Other rare species include Jackson's hartebeests and Grevy's zebras.
