Hamerkop Fly-In Safari: Summary
Hamerkop Fly-In Safari in a nutshell
Explore the Kenyan bush over nine days in Laikipia and the Maasai Mara, away from the crowds in private conservancies. The private Sosian Ranch, northwest of Mount Kenya, combines game viewing with its cattle ranching history – horse riding is a big draw here. As well as fantastic guided riding safaris out in the bush, there are camel rides and walking, river swimming and fishing, community visits and fly camping. There are of course traditional game drives too, but Sosian Lodge really excels in providing an immersive, exciting bush experience that’s well worth making the most of over your 4-night stay.
In contrast to the first half of the safari, Sosian’s sister camp Offbeat Mara is a traditional, down to earth tented camp located in the Mara North Conservancy. A 4-night stay here is all about the wildlife. Only guests staying on the conservancy can game drive here, so you can have superb sightings with very few other vehicles. It’s also possible to get out on foot for a new perspective.
This action-packed trip is great for families, single travellers as there is no single supplement, and with free nights included outside of high season, this safari is comparatively great value.
