"Olive Grove review"

1 night Arrived 21 May 2024
"Very comfortable room in a lovely guest house in the suburbs. Helpful service too.

If we were to stay more than one night, we think we would have looked for somewhere that was closer to restaurants and the centre of Windhoek. However, it was ideal for the one night we stayed here.

We also appreciated that it was only around 45 minutes from the airport." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia; 5n in South Africa

"Easy check-in to this well appointed guesthouse - very pleased with the room and staff very friendly.

After our long flights we decided to dine in house and we were very pleased with the delicious meal in lovely surroundings. Excellent breakfast too.

Car parking was very tight but the staff member who assisted us was brilliant.

There are a few awkward step at this property to both rooms and restaurant which might be a problem for some people." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Comfortable room, although a little dark, reasonable food and friendly staff.

Perfectly fine for a first night stop to get your bearings and recover from the flight." See all these reviews: 26n in Namibia

"Olive Grove review"

1 night Arrived 10 May 2024
"We really enjoyed Olive Grove. There was a friendly and genuine welcome and the communal areas were pleasant. The open plan kitchen was interesting and the chef very friendly. We were shown to our room quickly and the room was very comfortable. Although it was up an outside staircase (part metal, part stone) we were given immediate help with our luggage. There was plenty of space in the room and lots of amenities - a fridge with milk, a kettle, umbrellas, extra blankets and complementary port and chocolates, a lovely touch. The bathroom was also comfortable with double sinks, a lovely shower, toiletries and a separate cubicle, with door, for the toilet.

Outside our room was a small table and chairs under an awning overlooking the small parking area which was nice to use while we had a cup of tea, enjoying the pleasant temperature. There was also plenty of parking immediately opposite the gate which was not inconvenient if the parking area inside the gate was full.

We didn't use the small swimming pool but saw other guests using it.

We were glad we had reserved a table for dinner in advance as the food was excellent. It included a lovely broccoli and pear soup and one of the choices for main was eland fillet, delicious and beautifully cooked although we heard later it was actually springbok as eland was unavailable that day. Breakfast was also impressive.

The location was good - outside the main area of the town but close to a small shopping mall where we were able to pick up some supplies (water and snacks) for the long drives ahead and close to the main road network so we were able to get away to our next destination promptly, although we did stop to take some pictures of the famous church in the middle of a roundabout.

The staff filled our flask with coffee for us when we were leaving but we had forgotten to bring travel mugs. However, the lovely lady who checked us out found 2 disposable coffee cups with lids for us. She also provided a packed lunch for a small extra charge." "Olive Grove review"

1 night Arrived 2 May 2024
"A small guest house situated outside Windhoek in a quiet suburb. Lovely room and extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Large bathroom with bath and shower.
Friendly and helpful staff. Tea and coffee facilities and home made cookies provided. Also sherry and chocolates.
We decided to eat in for dinner and were very satisfied with the choice of starter, mains and dessert.
Breakfast was served at the table with a choice of both continental and cooked.
The pool was very small and could be described as decorative rather than functional.
The staff were friendly and we would choose Olive Grove again if we ever returned to Windhoek." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia
