"Immanuel Wilderness Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 13 Nov 2023
"Excellent stay for one night at the start of our Namibia trip.

Accommodation was comfortable, the food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. The little waterhole provided plenty of bird interest, as well as springbok and bontebock while enjoying a pre-dinner drink. A couple of resident ostriches and some tortoises also added interest.

Would definitely recommend for a one night stopover." See all these reviews: 23n in Namibia

"Food was good. Provided laundry free for us much appreciated. Reason given against Airlink review [airline lost luggage].

Directions poor. Wrong road number, and distance, so very difficult to find!" See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia; 5n in South Africa

"A lovely stopover close to Windhoek. Stayed one night. Very comfortable.

We loved the main reception and dining area, and the swimming pool. Rooms clean, tidy and comfortable. Food very good.

Happy to recommend and we would definitely stay there again." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

1 night Arrived 18 Sep 2018
"This is a really lovely camp run by a German couple who are passionately in love with Namibia and providing a comfortable stay for their guests.

Meals are beautifully cooked by the owner and proudly served by the attentive and friendly staff. And the owner personally talks to each of the guests to enquire if everything is OK!

Lovely restaurant and intimate lounge area overlooking beautifully designed grounds to relax within. Rooms could do with a little updating although clean and comfortable but as the owner confides, his priority has been the grounds and restaurant/lounge areas for development and has not been able to as yet refurbish the rooms - budgets only go so far!!!!!

But a worthy resting place with superb food cooked lovingly by the owner!!!!!" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"A lovely first night in Namibia!"

1 night Arrived 5 Sep 2018
"We had a very comfortable first night to our Namibian adventure - the supper menu was delicious, Stephan is an amazing chef!

The only disappointment was that the massages weren't available, we'd thought it would be a treat to have one after the long flight...but the reception manager explained and apologised that they were offering the service anymore.

It's very well placed for a first stop on the way up to Etosha - we'd recommend staying here." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Sadly no longer a wilderness"

1 night Arrived 28 Nov 2017
"Our view of this lodge was unfavourably affected by our difficulty in locating it. We didn't have a Satnav so relied on the written instructions provided in our itinerary - unfortunately these assumed we would be arriving from the Windhoek - and we could find no reference to lfinding the premises on the lodge's own website. We eventually found the right road but were disappointed to find ourselves driving through an industrialised area.

On arrival we were greeted by two staff members and shown our room. It was adequate but not inspiring and there was traffic noise. However the lodge dining room was delightful and the food was good. The take away packed breakfast was the best we have never been given anywhere! We never met the owners but spoke to Sabine over the phone on how to reach the airport.

We would like to make special mention of Johanna who proved herself to be most capable - she put us in touch with Sabine, cooked the evening meal, sorted out our bill, got up early to give us our packed breakfasts and inspired us with confidence. Her professional approach has enabled us to rate the lodge as good rather than average.

With the knowledge of hindsight we wished we had selected accommodation east of Windhoek so that we did not have to drive through the city rush hour on our way to the airport." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"Immanuel Wilderness Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 11 Nov 2017
"I think we had probably been spoilt after all the other lodges. Whilst it was relaxing there was not much to do - the nature trail referred to in the guide book has now closed which was disappointing.

It was a bit too close to the motorway and warehouses to justify the name Wilderness.

Good food although strict instructions for dinner at 7 pm was a bit early." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"It was ok for one night"

1 night Arrived 1 Oct 2017
"We stopped here on our second night in Namibia. We would have preferred to travel further but had problems finding availability with our lodges (booked in February for travel in October).

The bedroom accommodation is looking tired and badly in need of an update. Also it was strange that we had a small fridge in our room but our friends did not. The outside area was in full sun and therefor could not be used during the day.

Food was excellent but despite trying to engage the host in conversation on a number of occasions, she was quite abrupt. This was the least friendly of all our accommodation and we wouldn't return.

Directions to this lodge were unclear and we turned off the main road too soon, travelling miles on a gravel road to then realise we were back close to the main road again." See all these reviews: 9n in Zimbabwe; 5n in Namibia

"Good for first or last night"

1 night Arrived 27 Sep 2017
"The rooms were OK, perhaps a little tired but very adequate for a night. The property has a nice garden & pool area. The restaurant area is also attractive & the food very good.

The owner was very relaxed about us hanging around on the day of departure to suit our airport check in - a major bonus given the garden and pool." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
