"African Castle"

1 night Arrived 29 May 2019
"This was our little treat to ourselves for our last night in Namibia. It's in a spectacular position with views across Windhoek (though as it's probably the most attractive building in the city, so you might be better outside looking in!) and even if you're not staying it's great for an afternoon beer (beer prices are doubtless extortionate by local standards but not by European...).

The European-style fine dining (albeit focused on local Namibian ingredients) feels a little out of place if I'm honest - but it's an interesting experience. Our room was good, with a seating area in one of the little turrets which was quite fun! The staff were friendly and helpful - service probably wasn't quite as smooth as you might expect in the equivalent European hotel, but this was more than made up for by their charm and cheer." "Heinitzburg Hotel Review"

1 night Arrived 5 Apr 2018
"We had a Superior Deluxe room and it was spacious and clean but, whilst the basin had hot water, the shower didn't work properly and we had to shower in cool/tepid water.

Furthermore, the air conditioning unit leaked in the room (and obviously had done or some time as the floor was warped as you walked into the bathroom) - both of these items were reported to the hotel staff. Very disappointing for a Superior Deluxe room!

With that said, the hotel location is superb and we saw one of the most amazing sunsets we have ever seen from the patio. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was also good." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia
