"Vic Falls Hotel stay"
We suppose the very high cost in a facility of this nature and has its reasons. Perhaps it is expensive to be in Zimbabwe. The other parts of the stay were very good, but the room value seemed way below the cost.
We have stayed around the world and at that price expected a much larger and nicer room." See all these reviews: 12n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe
"Gracious old hotel with beautiful views"
The hotel has extensive lawns but oddly, only 4 chaise on the lawns so people have to sit on steps or walls.
The falls are a 10 to 15 minute walk away through the national game park. The hotel has a security guard, Lindani, stationed at the beginning of the walk and he was most helpful and kind. On both occasions when we walked the path he insisted on escorting us. The one time it was certainly needed as there was an elephant very close to the path.
Note that there is a $30 per person entrance fee to see the falls. They accept credit cards but only between certain hours so check first or just take cash. Wear a rain hat and rain coat. One can rent a raincoat at the entrance. Give yourself 1.5 to 2 hours at the Falls." See all these reviews: 8n in Zimbabwe; 5n in South Africa

It is looking a little rundown though - probably more the fault of the economy than hotel management." See all these reviews: 9n in Botswana; 3n in South Africa; 2n in Zimbabwe
"BIG Hotel!"
"Victoria Falls Hotel review"
Not as close to falls as some of the Zambian hotels. you overlook the plume from the falls and the bridge, NOT the falls themselves
Friendly helpful staff
On walk (from a gate in hotel grounds) to the Falls there were many persistent locals trying to sell tourists carved animals and copper bracelets which was a little unsettling." See all these reviews: 9n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe
"Beautiful old lady!"
View of the bridge lit up at night was wonderful. Breakfast on both mornings taken at Jungle Junction, buffet style lots of choice everything cooked to order.
You have to excuse this hotel for some of her faults, noisy and inefficient plumbing, squeaking floors etc. as she is showing her age a little but magnificent all the same.
Very convenient to walk to the Falls from the hotel gate if you don't mind being harassed by the vendors all the time." See all these reviews: 11n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe
"A step back in time...."
Getting into Zimbabwe from arriving in Kasane (Botswana) was fine ... again all well organised by Expert Africa.
The Hotel rooms - we had a deluxe Bridge facing room were fine - look rather tired and the AC wasn't up to scratch. The choice of restaurants was excellent and the quality of service was first class.
Although I enjoyed seeing the dramatic falls - i've done it... and probably wouldn't do it again" See all these reviews: 3n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe; 2n in Namibia
