"Victoria Falls Hotel review"
"Excellent stay at Victoria Falls Hotel"
We really enjoyed the food, service and entertainment at the Jungle Junction buffet! Quiet to sleep and appreciated the mosquito netting. The breakfast buffet at Jungle Junction was very good and relaxing.
The grounds were beautifully maintained and had mongoose and warthogs! The Hotel is connected by a short walk to Victoria Falls.
Everything was quality!! A memorable place to stay." See all these reviews: 7n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe; 1n in South Africa
"Very Comfortable and great proximity to Falls"
The second night we dined at the Jungle Junction outdoor restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with the selection and the very tasty dishes. The entertainment was a real plus as well.
Generally speaking I did not feel comfortable venturing on my own in Zimbabwe and for that reason probably would not return. I was there just to see Victoria Falls." See all these reviews: 5n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe
"Very impressive hotel"
We ate our evening meal on the terrace which we enjoyed. Breakfast was very impressive. Make sure you leave enough time to do it justice.
Our only negative point was that the standard rooms are very small." See all these reviews: 9n in Zimbabwe; 5n in Namibia
"Colonial grandeur in a natural spectacle"
We got over the border in 4 minutes but another couple on the same day spent 3 hours. We felt perfectly safe but on their own locals were were open about the problems of life for ordinary people.
The staff were polite but nothing like as friendly as the Botswanans we had met. The falls are incredible even in the dry season and we nearly gave ourselves heat stroke in our desire to see everything.
The evening Zambesi cruise is definitely mass tourism with dozens of boats but some good wildlife, especially the African Skimmers. The sunset made a great photo op for the end of our African trip." See all these reviews: 9n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe
"Absolutely Wonderful"
We stayed here in 1970 and this was a sentimental return as part of a wedding anniversary. In those days it was a 3 star hotel and now it is 5 star+. They have kept all of the original colonial features (built 1904) and added the facilities expected in the 21st century. Corridors are filled with period photographs and posters, which we loved exploring
We had a room in the stable wing which was lovely. If I can find a half decent reason to return, we will." See all these reviews: 8n in Zimbabwe; 6n in Botswana; 4n in Namibia
"Vic Falls"
Zip line was great fun and Lookout cafe a good recommendation. Sunset cruise was much better than expected due to abundance of wildlife but candlelit dinner less inspiring due to lots of insects and table too low to eat at. Next time would do cruise without dinner.
Xfer to Kasane was flawless and saw yet more game." See all these reviews: 6n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe
"Gem in Victoria Falls"
The rooms are quant, the food options are delicious and the proximity to the falls can't be beat." See all these reviews: 9n in Zimbabwe; 5n in Botswana
"Lovely hotel, but disappointing room"
The only disappointment was our room, which was very small (even by standards in the UK!) It was also on the ground floor and quite dark. It seemed a little 'tired' and needs an update. We had to wait a long time for our room to be ready, although this wasn't a problem as the rest of the hotel and grounds are so lovely."
