"Victoria Falls Hotel review"
You can see upgrades are being made and married to the historic building.
Service was excellent from check in, dinner on the terrace and breakfast in the morning. The grounds are impeccably kept with banded mongoose, baboons and warthogs roaming the lawns. For some reason the gate to the falls was closed which was disappointing as this meant a walk to the falls via the town.
Rooms were clean and well maintained for an historic building, air conditioning was efficient, hotel provided a very good WiFi service." See all these reviews: 8n in Zimbabwe
"Victoria Falls Hotel review"
We really enjoyed dinner in the Livingstone Room.
Excellent swimming pool.
Good job I am deaf because the roar of the constant helicopter traffic is a pain.
I did a fishing trip for a morning. Absolutely dreadful. The kit provided was poor and we effectively ran out of traces and pretty much had to stop. This was not cheap as I had to pay for the whole boat and i felt seriously ripped off." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia; 9n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe; 1n in South Africa

"A bit of luxury ..."
The only shortcoming was the restaurants... one has a dress code and the other one a buffet (which we do not like) and the only other option was the terrace which served a rather limited menu.
We ate there once and chose to eat at the Ilala the other night." See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia; 2n in Zimbabwe

The gardens are lovely and we enjoyed the warthog who is probably the most photographed animal in Vic Falls.
Good dinner at Jungle Junction." See all these reviews: 10n in Zimbabwe

"Elegance and history"
It was a peaceful place to begin the trip, and I liked particularly the retention of history in the Bulawayo Room, and the paintings displayed in art gallery and elsewhere. I'd perhaps like to have stayed a day or two longer. It was a bit of a rush fitting in a brief trip to the Zambian side, and there were many things we didn't go to see, like the Big Tree.
The individual staff members at the hotel were very friendly and interesting to talk to. Lindani, the guard on the path to the Falls; a young waiter, whose name escapes me (Ashton?); and many others - all extremely helpful, not intrusive, and excellent conversationalists.
The hotel was also very accommodating when we needed food and drink for the overnight train to Bulawayo - the lovely packed lunch lasted us through two meals." See all these reviews: 16n in Zimbabwe
"great stay - really special "
Wont forget the sight of baboons swarming the building early in the morning before the security guards could get organized and chase them off. Good food and fine South African wines - great staff and great service - an amazing breakfast buffet the like of which I have never seen anywhere else."
