"VERY COMFORTABLE"

3 nights Arrived 3 Jun 2016
"Professionally run hotel in excellent location within easy walking distance of the Falls, lovely grounds, a colonial atmosphere and good public facilities.

Staff well trained, friendly and EXCELLENT (except the bar-man who was a bit cold). Excellent menu and pleasant outdoor dining.

Very nice standard room with private terrace from where we watched the warthogs. Memorable viewing of awesome Victoria Falls.

Despite the almost constant buzzing of sight-seeing helicopters over the hotel would stay there again." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 3n in Zimbabwe

"Great entry and departure nights!"

1 night Arrived 3 Jun 2016
"We spent one night on arrival and our last night at Illala and it was a lovely, no fuss place to stay. Great view of the mist from the falls, and the lodge borders the park so we saw warthogs and an elephant right on property.

The rooms were a bit dated, and we asked for a second floor room with a terrace on our second night which we found much better than ground floor. Amazing staff and food!!!" See all these reviews: 3n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe; 2n in Namibia

"Wonderful hotel"

2 nights Arrived 28 May 2016
"Great base for Victoria Falls. The hotel is very picturesque with a lovely bar, restaurant and pool area, that overlook the hotel gardens. Food (especially breakfast!) was a particular highlight. A wide range of bar snacks to full a la carte are offered and all were of excellent quality.

The hotel has recently been expanded to add a significant number of additional rooms. This did not appear to congest or otherwise impact the service or central areas but we did not visit in peak season. We were in the original rooms and these were comfortable with a lovely balcony where you could hear the roar and see the spray of the falls.

Friendly, accommodating staff. Great stay." See all these reviews: 5n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Great first respite"

1 night Arrived 22 May 2016
"Wonderful grounds with view of the fall, wonderful attentive staff, amazingly good food.

We stayed our first and last nights at the lodge, the second time we asked for a second floor room and we liked the terrace much better than the ground floor patio. Saw elephant and warthogs right from our room. Victoria Falls area right around hotel not the nicest." See all these reviews: 3n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe; 2n in Namibia

"Great Victoria Falls Hotel"

2 nights Arrived 19 May 2016
"We travelled with our 20 year old daughter and booked separate rooms. Great view of Warthogs, Vervet monkeys, and were told of Elephant in the previous days from our balcony in our room.

Breakfast buffet was awesome. Lots of chooses. Staff was helpful, courteous, accommodating and would go back again. Great ambiance in the restaurant. Better than average food.

Ten Minute walk to the falls.+++" See all these reviews: 8n in Botswana; 2n in South Africa; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Location, location, location"

2 nights Arrived 30 Apr 2016
"Very comfortable lodge in a great location.

Walking distance to the Falls on one side and to the shop and restaurants of the town on the other side. Right next to the bank machines and post office.

Friendly and accommodating front desk staff, and good food at the on site restaurant. As in all of the places we ate at in Zimbabwe, service in slow by American and European standards." See all these reviews: 6n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Vic Falls"

2 nights Arrived 24 Apr 2016
"We were given a free upgrade but unfortunately our room had a tree in front of it, so not much of a view. we could see the spray from the Falls from the hotel - not the room and hear the water.

Visiting Victoria Falls was a breathtakingly spiritual experience. Got soaked to the skin of course!

Then dried off and walked to Zambia and had lunch at the Royal Livingstone Hotel - a beatiful place in a stunning location. Delicious food too!" See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Lovely stay at Ilala"

3 nights Arrived 26 Mar 2016
"Ilala was excellent. The service was super and very accommodating, especially for the children. The pool was in great condition and my kids loved it. The quality of the food was outstanding!

The location was perfect -- being able to walk to the Falls was great. There is not much else to "do" in Victoria Falls, but we didn't even need to leave. One should be aware that prices are all in USD throughout, so it was expensive. The sundowner cruise was very nice -- high quality boat, nice staff, ample food and beverage.

We also did a tandem zipline with Wild Horizons, which was super fun." See all these reviews: 5n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe
