"Great camp and location"

3 nights Arrived 29 Aug 2013
"The camp was wonderful. This area of the park is crawling with tourists. Every time we got near the migration so did 25-30 other cars. Tourists jumped out of their vehicles and scared the animals away. Same with a group of cheetahs where there we so many cars, one cheetah could not get to the kill. Unfortunately, the makes the whole experience about as authentic as Disneyland.

Again, the camp is great, but I would not go again." See all these reviews: 6n in Tanzania

"Lamai Serengeti Feedback"

3 nights Arrived 26 Jul 2013
"This offered a great contrast to Serengeti Camp: from plains to kopje and tent to 'house'. The location and outlook were superb and it was a shame the plains had recently been blackened with burning as not only did this slightly mar the view, I couldn't get my feet clean for a week!

Mark and Chloe were remarkable hosts and it felt like we made almost instant companions despite the brevity of our stay there.

My only slight quibble was the quality of the (bird) guiding. Lovely chap though he was, too often he didn't know what the bird we were looking at was and on one occasion even blamed the poor quality of his binoculars.

Highlights were going out walking one afternoon and encountering two separate pairs of lions, crossing the border into the Masai Mara as part of the ongoing quest for cheetah and twelve elephants traversing the airstrip upon our departure." See all these reviews: 6n in Tanzania

"Lamai Serengeti review"

3 nights Arrived 16 Jul 2013
"An amazing location and welcome by Chloe and Mark . Appreciated how the lodge blended so well into the landscape. Felt very wild as the lions prowled and roared close by at night! Enjoyed the way Chloe arranged the dinner tables at night so you met a different group each evening if you wished, and especially loved the birthday meal and chefs all singing!

Again an evening of star gazing on offer.

Excellent location for driving out, so much to see even close to the camp." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar; 1n in Kenya

"Lamai Serengeti"

4 nights Arrived 14 Feb 2013
"We were privileged to be able spend such a wonderful 4 days here. Apart from the last night we had the Lamai camp to our ourselves. Sacha and his team were great hosts and there was nothing that was too much trouble. Our room (no. 2) had simply stunning views across the plains toward Kenya and you could have sat there taking in the scenery and wildlife all day and not got bored at all. Our guide Gabriel who we had met before at Katavi (another Nomad Camp) was simply great and so knowledgeable. We told him that we had the best experience of our all our trips to Africa in those 4 days.

The food and overall standard of service was simply excellent.

I can't think of any holiday where our 8 days away seemed like 3 weeks! Lamai is a destination that everyone who has a passion for East Africa should go to. It's positioning high above the plains provides a really special location with unrivaled views.

Going 'out of season' had the benefit of few visitors but with great wildlife experiences - only the masses of wildebeest were missing but we saw those in the south in the first 4 days" See all these reviews: 9n in Tanzania

"This was easily the best camp on our safari. We had previously come across Sascha and Tam when they were managing Beho Beho in 2010.

"Lamai Serengeti"

4 nights Arrived 3 Oct 2012
"This lodge was different from Sayari Mara, as it is located in the hills and blends with it's surroundings. Here you see the cats and we concentrated on them. We had another superb guide and got close ups of a Cheetah finishing her dinner. We saw a different part of the Serengeti and had a wonderful time.

Our Banda was close to the Main House and it was nice to have our guides join us for drinks before dinner to talk about what we had seen and to plan for tomorrow. The food was delicious and varied with every meal. We had breakfast on the Lamai Wedge every morning, lunch back in camp, and a delicious dinner in the main house every evening. The managers Sacha and Tamilyn, were excellent and made everyone feel like part of a family. They had the ability to mix the guests, and were very knowledgeable about Tanzania. We loved the feel of the open bandas and the views down onto the plains. We also loved the decor of our open banda.

We would love to return again." See all these reviews: 34n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar
