"Ndutu Safari Lodge review"
We met the husband and wife who own the Lodge - they were very welcoming as were all the staff and it was interesting to hear their story of how they came to be in this place.
The accommodation was absolutely fine - very real!" See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania; 3n in Zambia; 1n in Kenya

From the lodge did a safari in the conservation area. Watched the start of the migration with thousands opf zebras and wilderbest on the move (quite spectacular) and the thrill of watching a cheetah stalking and selecting a possible victim. Unfortunately he left it too late and the herd spotted him and took evasive action! Saw a wounded hippo who was in a very bad way after a fight but survived to the next day despite a huge wound in his chest. Saw a wonderful pride of lions in magnificent and languid condition quite unperturbed by our presence." See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania; 3n in Kenya

It is possible there are more luxurious locations to stay in this area but they would probably be more expensive (no doubt Expert Africa would advise on this).
Service provided by staff was excellent." See all these reviews: 11n in Tanzania
"Ndutu Safari Lodge review"
We loved the feel of the place and it appears to have deliberately tried to keep the old fashioned lodge feel, whilst maintaining a good level of service provision.
The food was good quality, from a set menu, albeit there was alittle flexibility if you chose. Staff were friendly and efficient. The Dining area and reception looks straight out onto the bush, with views down towards the lake in the distance.
The accommodation is basic but clean, with a comfortable bed plus mosquito nets. Power is generator delivered and is switched off at about 11 until 5 am. Not a time we'd expect to be awake, so no great issue at all.
My only suggestion would be the addition of an overhead fan, although it would lose power at 11pm. The windows allowed a bug free breeze, so not really a problem for us. It might be hotter at different times of the year
The Manager was really friendly and knew our guide too. We enjoyed the contrast of the place with the 'camping'. and left a little entranced actually. It had a nice feel about it.
Game in the surrounding area was limited due to lack of grazing animals, but we did see plenty of bird life and elephants as we headed through it, en route to the Serengeti" See all these reviews: 11n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar
"Ndutu Safari Lodge comments"
The staff were great, the food good, the location was beautiful. Cabins are well maintained and comfortable. They were very efficient in seating and serving people. It seemed to be a very well run establishment.
I had a minor issue with the wifi connection (which in hindsight seemed beyond trivial to even bring it to their attention) and they contacted me quickly about my issue." See all these reviews: 4n in Tanzania
"Real safari ambience"
Atmospheric camp fire after dinner in the evenings. Very relaxed and peaceful." See all these reviews: 6n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar
