Dik Dik Safari

Combine safari with peace and relaxation on Zanzibar’s white-sand shores during this exploration of Tanzania. Stay in three high-quality sister camps within Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park before concluding with a stay on Michamvi Peninsula.

Dik Dik Safari: Summary

Dik Dik Safari in a nutshell

This comprehensive safari combines three high-quality sister camps within Tanzania’s famous northern circuit with a luxurious beach retreat on Zanzibar’s Michamvi Peninsula. You will enjoy the the same consistency in excellent management during your stays at the safari camps, whose long-stay discounts make the combination decidedly good value, before unwinding in total comfort upon Qambani’s white-sand shores.

In Tarangire National Park, the elevated position of Lemala Mpingo Ridge offers spectacular views across the valley, which is home to excellent game viewing. Away from the busier, northern section of the park, allowing quieter wildlife encounters, you can explore your surroundings with day and night game drives as well as guided walking safaris.

Similarly well-positioned, Lemala Ngoronogoro is near to the crater’s Sopa descent road, affording swift access to the crater floor ahead of most other vehicles. As well as large elephant herds, you might find the elusive black rhino and an increasingly healthy population of cheetah. Walking in this area can be especially rewarding.

Lemala Nanyukie is just beyond the Serengeti’s busy centre, Seronera. This region is known for its impressive density of big cats and you might well see the great migration if visiting between November and January.

To finish, relax in the luxurious setting of Qambani, with spa treatments, idyllic views and a range of activities – snorkelling, diving, kayaking and reef walks – to discover the surrounding corals and marine life.

Lemala Mpingo Ridge

Days 1-3

Opened in July 2018, Lemala Mpingo Ridge is one of Tarangire National Park’s newer camps. It is set on a high ridge with elevated views across the valley below from every aspect of the camp. Impressive rooms, infinity swimming pool, attention to detail, excellent service and delicious meals make this a luxurious base from which to explore.

Lemala Ngorongoro

Days 3-5

Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp is located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the quiet, eastern side of the crater rim, a short drive past the Lemala Gate. Set in a grove of red-thorn acacia trees, the camp has more of a bush feel than many camps in this area of Tanzania, with plenty of birdlife and frequent visits by buffalo and elephant at night. Although Lemala doesn't have direct views over the crater, it does have views – mist and clouds permitting – through the forests in the opposite direction.

Lemala Nanyukie

Days 5-8

Lemala Nanyukie opened in October 2018 and is located in the quieter part of the central Serengeti, just outside of the busy Seronera area. The region is home to the wildebeest migration between November and January.

Qambani

Days 8-13

Qambani is a luxurious property on the tip of Zanzibar’s beautiful Michamvi Peninsula. Set on a low cliff above a white sandy beach, it has 270m of seafront and stunning ocean views. Originally built as a family home, it has now opened its doors to the public and offers high quality accommodation with a very personalised service.
