Superb Starling safari in a nutshell
This fly-in safari explores Nyerere National Park and Ruaha National Park from two luxuriously smart sister camps. Both Roho ya Selous and Jabali Ridge promise uniquely contemporary design, contrasting styles and a range of safari activities by which to explore their surrounding areas.
Beginning in Nyerere National Park, Roho ya Selous lies on a small promontory on the west side of Lake Nzerakera, and is also within easy reach of the nearby Lake Manze. These aquatic regions lead to plentiful sightings of hippos and crocodiles as well as myriad diverse birds. A variety of water-based activities is available here, from boating safaris and fishing to river-cruise sundowner drinks. At the heart of Nyerere National Park's best game-viewing region, the camp also offers good land-based wildlife sightings from 4WD game drives and walking safaris.
Jabali Ridge occupies a prime location in Ruaha with commanding views overlooking the park and the Mwagusi River. In contrast to Roho’s traditional tented style, Jabali showcases lots of natural materials which, although blending in well with the surrounding rocky kopjes, appear slightly futuristic. Wildlife frequently visits the surrounding area, especially during the dry season, and a variety of day and night 4WD game drives and walking safaris provide plenty of opportunity for exciting discovery.
