"Haus Sonneneck review"

1 night Arrived 11 Aug 2012
"The room was big - and very good for a family. We had a private outside patio - which was very nice, and spotted our first grey lourie. A good powerful shower and lovely breakfast too. One of the best breakfasts of our trip. Situated in a quiet and secure part of town, and well sited for an evening at Joe's Beer house, which was very atmospheric and fun.

A bit annoying was that we had emailed in advance to ask whether we could come early (as we were arriving so very early in the morning, heads reeling, off the night flight from Frankfurt, and wanted a shower and change before exploring Windhoek. We were told it wasn't possible because the house was full. When we checked in we discovered that the owners weren't there at all (a friend was looking after the place for the owners) and we were the only guests.

That said, the owners' friend was lovely and welcoming." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Very pleasant stay"

1 night Arrived 28 May 2012
"We stayed at Haus Sonneneck both on our way in to Namibia and on our last night.

It is such a wonderful and comfortable place to stay. My husband and I really enjoyed the location, which is a quick drive from downtown Windhoek, but in a quiet residential neighborhood that is slower-paced. The service is very pleasant and the managers are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with nice enclosed outdoor patios." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Wonderful, comfortable base"

1 night Arrived 17 May 2012
"Haus Sonneneck was the perfect entry/exit stop for our self-drive in Namibia.

It's outside of downtown Windhoek, so it's a nice, quiet neighborhood, but downtown is easily accessible. The owner is wonderful and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I loved the little cookies on our pillows!" See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia
