We particularly enjoyed the farm drive with Danie (if you want to understand the complexities of farming in Namibia this is an excellent place to stay)." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Vreugde Guest Farm review"

2 nights Arrived 15 Sep 2024
"Rooms are nothing special. Pretty grounds and set up for outside eating. Very nice and knowledgeable owners. Helped us plan our time self driving in Etosha. Good planning to be outside the middle gate of park. We toured some of the Western part of park one day and then drove through the part to the Eastern gate and our next stop. Magnificent wildlife viewing both days. Really good food here with much of it from the farm itself. Walking trails which I needed after so much driving!" "Vreugde Guest Farm review"

1 night Arrived 18 Mar 2024
"The hosts were very hospitable, and the food was excellent. We learned a lot about the impact of drought and climate change on cattle farming in Namibia. For us, this was a stopping point on our travel from Etendeka Mountain Camp to Vreugde Guest Farm, so we did not do any hikes or wildlife viewing." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia

"Vreugde Guest Farm review"

3 nights Arrived 8 Aug 2022
"The guesthouse is a little dated in style and a touch tired in places but the family run aspect and friendliness happily compensated for that and made for a lovely stay overall.

It was about 30 minutes from the gate to Etosha which was mildly inconvenient and meant that we had to stay out in the park for the full day each time so the days were long.

But nothing was too much trouble, particularly for my fussy eater who couldn't have been better catered for each evening with specific homemade chicken nuggets/schnitzel each evening.

Overall we had a lovely stay in a beautiful part of the country." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia; 5n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Vreugde Guest Farm review"

1 night Arrived 17 Oct 2018
"Lovely cattle farm with interesting long time welcoming family.
They regaled us with singing and champagne in celebration of our anniversary, another sweet surprise.

Took sun downer trip around farm with one of sons, informative.
No large wildlife, lots of birds, warthogs, dikdik and possibly a duiker

Left early for very long drive to Khowarib. With sightseeing stops, the drive took nine hours.

Excellent food!" See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia

"Convenient"

1 night Arrived 23 Oct 2013
"Only half an hour from Etosha's Andersson Gate, this is a well-established, family run guest farm appealing to those looking for a personal accommodation experience. Rooms are rustic but fully equipped and very clean with nice bed and bathroom linens.

We were welcomed and hosted by Rachel, which added a lot to our overall enjoyment. Food was simple home-cooked. Guided safaris into Etosha are offered if you don't want to drive yourself. My only constructive suggestion would be that the combination of having to name a time for breakfast the day before, and having no in-room facilities for making a morning cup of tea/coffee is an uneasy one. If you get your waking-time estimate wrong it can seem an awfully long time to breakfast without a drink.

However this won't matter to many and the friendly hospitality and convenient location will make it a very good stopover choice." See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia
