My Mar 2024 trip
Namibia between 14 Mar 2024 and 23 Mar 2024
"The walking safari format worked very well for us. In both cases, our guides were excellent (Boas at Etendeka and Bruno at Mundulea). We were able to see so much wildlife that we would have missed, but for the guides. We also liked being able to support projects like the Mundulea Reserve and Etendeka that are working to protect and restore habitat and wildlife in Namibia. The folks that we met (I am adding Harry Waterberg here) are doing such important work in protecting and restoring habitat.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
The trip logistics were great (accommodations, directions, choice of guides, locations, food, etc). One suggestion: This was our first time in Africa. We found it very helpful to have Grace's assistance when we arrived at the Windhoek Airport. We took your advice to check in at the Wilderness Safaris office there, and Grace took us under her wing and walked us through the process of using the cash machine to get local currency and picking up the rental car. She made that process so much smoother for us."

"We loved the cabins that were spread far enough apart to give a real sense of privacy. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed dining around a large table that allowed us to meet the other guests. The food was great as well."

Etendeka Walking Trail

"Our guide Boas was excellent! He showed us many animals that we would have otherwise missed. (in addition to the animals listed below, we saw baboons and klipspringer antelope. Boas also had a deep knowledge of the plants and animals at Etendeka. The walking was the right distance - enough to get a good workout and see lots of places, but not exhausting. The stars at night were amazing as well!"

Vreugde Guest Farm

"The hosts were very hospitable, and the food was excellent. We learned a lot about the impact of drought and climate change on cattle farming in Namibia. For us, this was a stopping point on our travel from Etendeka Mountain Camp to Vreugde Guest Farm, so we did not do any hikes or wildlife viewing."

Mundulea Reserve

"Our host, Bruno, is an amazing guide as well as a fascinating conversationist. The work he is doing to "re-wild" former cattle farms into natural, bio-diverse habitat is inspiring and important. We learned so much on each hike that we took with him - he is one of the most talented trackers that I have ever met (there were lots of leopard tracks, as well as giraffe, zebra, hyena, kudu, and eland)! And the food was also excellent as well. This was a highlight of our trip!
We saw lots of wildlife. In addition to the species listed below, we saw black-faced impala, ostrich, greater kudu, warthogs, dik dik antelope, springbok, hartebeest. There are blinds set up at the main camp that allow you to watch animals that come to drink or to lick the salt-block."

"We stayed at the Galton House on the night before we flew out. Great customer service! The manager, Coenie, was so gracious and helpful! So was Jacob, the wait-staff. The food was excellent, and the Galton House is in a neighborhood that is excellent for walking."
