My Aug 2022 trip
Namibia and 2 other countries between 2 Aug 2022 and 20 Aug 2022
The booking process was really efficient, informative and painless thanks to Tracy's help and availability throughout. I had a particular itinerary in mind but was not sure whether it would work in practice. With Tracy's help it became a reality and the girls and I had a very memorable trip of a lifetime with lots of photographs to enjoy for years afterwards.
I couldn't fault any of it - all the connections worked well and no complaints about any aspect.
Thank you so much for all the help and making it a reality. I really hope it will have given my girls a taste for travel in the future."

Kulala Desert Lodge
"Kulala Desert Lodge review"
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the lodge was very well situated with lovely food and even some singing and dancing one night which was wonderful.
On our last day, without asking for it, the lodge prepared wonderful picnic boxes for our onward travels at no cost which was very helpful and thoughtful."
Swakopmund Guesthouse

Not 'luxurious' but perfect for what we needed."
Kayaking with seals
"Kayaking with seals review"
7 Aug 2022 • Morning excursion
Very well managed and run, really interesting drive, helpful staff and we all really enjoyed this. The seals were literally close enough to touch and play with and the drive involved plenty of flamingo sightings, jackals and past the salt factory which was also very interesting.
Warm tea and sandwiches when we finished.
Vreugde Guest Farm
"Vreugde Guest Farm review"
It was about 30 minutes from the gate to Etosha which was mildly inconvenient and meant that we had to stay out in the park for the full day each time so the days were long.
But nothing was too much trouble, particularly for my fussy eater who couldn't have been better catered for each evening with specific homemade chicken nuggets/schnitzel each evening.
Overall we had a lovely stay in a beautiful part of the country."
Villa Violet
"Villa Violet review"
A nice quiet hotel that was well located for our brief stop. Nice room and good, helpful staff.
We didn't have time for breakfast so no comment on the food."
Batonka Guest Lodge
"Batonka Guest Lodge review"
Very peaceful, excellent, extremely attentive staff, a beautiful terrace for breakfast and other meals and a great atmosphere.
It was a bit of a nuisance that it was a USD10 return taxi ride into town each time but I think that was offset by the sanctuary offered by the lodge and its other attributes."
Ra-Ikane River Cruise
"Ra-Ikane River Cruise review"
12 Aug 2022 • All-day excursion
The staff were lovely, the river is beautiful and the wildlife was great to see from a different vantage point.
Sunset is a beautiful time to be out and the service and drinks added to the sense of occasion.
Elephant Encounter
"Elephant Encounter review"
13 Aug 2022 • All-day excursion
The guide was really informative about the conservation efforts, reserve and the history of the elephants themselves. We had to drive into the reserve to find the elephants first, stroked them and had photographs taken, then walked with them and finally were able to feed them which the children particularly enjoyed.
The elephant handlers were all on hand to ensure the interaction was safe and well managed and that the elephants were comfortable.
Chobe Elephant Camp
"Chobe Elephant Camp review"
The terrace and fire pit have beautiful views of sunset and the valley. We had some wonderful trips in a very beautiful and verdant part of the country. We saw an abundance of wildlife in a different way to Etosha which was wonderful.
The staff sang and danced for us one evening and were all extremely helpful to us throughout. The food was very good but not an enormous variety of options for children."
Machaba Camp
"Machaba Camp review"
The camp was stunning and staff were wonderful. Our room was fantastic and the evening meals a real occasion, particularly given the setting.
There was a lot of excitement being in the middle of the wildlife with animal noises throughout the night and visible on the terrace/across the river during the daytime. Breaking the day back at camp made it all a lot more manageable for children and brunch and high tea were highlights too.
The game drives we did were the best we had anywhere and we were spoilt with lions and leopards each day and cheetah the final evening. We saw cubs and lions feeding and were able to get very close to the wildlife.
The guide was wonderful and the camp staff bent over backwards to keep us and the children happy throughout. We didn't want to leave!"
The room was good and clean and staff friendly."
