"We took an evening cruise on our last night.

The boat was smaller and much nicer than other cruises (only about 12 people) giving a more personalised service and allowing excellent views of the wildlife and scenery for all the guests.

There was a plentiful supply of drinks and snacks and a good commentary from the captain.

But would have been good to know that all drinks and lots of snacks / nibbles were included in this tour as we had booked a fixed menu dinner afterwards. "Were well looked after by two members of staff. Although there were a lot of boats on the river they managed to find quiet spots where we could view birds and animals without being surrounded by other tourists.

Seeing crocodiles from boat a very different experience than from a safari vehicle.

Obviously seeing the sunset from river with reflections on water a special experience.

"A very pleasant evening with drinks and snacks. We saw small groups of elephants and hippos, several crocodiles and various birds but of course that has since been overshadowed by what we encountered in Botswana.

The cruise finished at the sister hotel, Palm River, so we stayed there for an excellant meal and were then driven back to our hotel. We preferred the style of building at Ilala Lodge and thought it was better situated for visiting the Falls." Read more about this whole safari

"We've been in sunset cruise and it was wonderful experience.

Hippos and crocodiles in the river, antelopes on the shore and beautiful sunset on the top of that.

"We enjoyed our river cruise - there were just 12 people (plus two staff) on board, which was perfect. We were able to get closer to the river bank than the larger boats. Tasty snacks and plentiful drinks.

"Enjoyable few hours on the river. Very comfortable and relaxing with drinks, ample tasty snacks and sightings of hippos and crocodiles.
