"Etosha Safari Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 11 Nov 2015
"A truly wonderful setting close to Etosha. The rooms however were distinctly average, with just one dispenser marked 'shampoo' (we were told it was shower gel) in the rather over-sized shower-room.

Food and service was slightly impersonal as this establishment clearly caters for large groups.

However as a one-night stop-over this place was absolutely fine." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Convenient location and good food"

3 nights Arrived 27 Oct 2014
"The rooms were not luxurious but were spacious and well equiped including a full mosquito net and a large wet room. We liked the small balcony overlooking the surronding hills and were able to view Ostrich, Hornbills and other birds from here. The food in the restaurant was great and it was lovely to sit outside for evening meals. The bar viewing terrace gave good views of the hillsides and was a nice place to sit but we were disappointed that we didn't see any animals at the hotel watering hole. Access to the dining room was a little difficult fo my partner as it was some way from our room over some uneven paths. It was helpful to be able to park directly outside the accommodation. Some of the rooms further out from the main hotel did not have particularly inspiring views. It was easy to get to Etosha Reserve from here and the wildlife viewing was wonderful and so easy. On our first visit to the reserve we had a guided trip with a very good guide provided by the hotel but after that we drove ourselves and had a great time with little cost." "Mixed feelings on this one...."

2 nights Arrived 1 Jun 2014
"This is a big and busy place with little in the way of atmosphere.

The food was limited and not particularly inspiring and the buffet was not kept hot enough, while breakfasts could have involved quite a bit more in the way of choice.

The rooms are a good size and beds clean and comfortable, and have all the facilities you need except for a fridge and chairs on the terrace, but the gardens do not appear to have been completed, terraces weren't swept, the pool areas needed TLC and the area around some of the room looks like a work in progress.

The hotel was not actually uncomfortable but impersonal. Several members of the staff tried very hard to be helpful and efficient but the general atmosphere failed to impress, perhaps because they appear to cater for bus tours and large groups visiting the park and people are always moving on."
