"Olive Grove"

1 night Arrived 14 Nov 2012
"Very nice experience. Made to feel welcome and appreciated immediately upon arrival. Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent (and plenty of) food. Owner dropped by to say hello and ask if we needed anything too, which is smart business, but also appreciated. Only wish we had arrived sooner to be able to take advantage of their spa services too! Great location." See all these reviews: 5n in Namibia

"Lovely Guest House"

1 night Arrived 4 Nov 2012
"We loved this place.

We arrived very early in the morning, due to the time of our flight. They were very welcoming, immediately served us an excellent breakfast and the room was very quickly made ready for us. It was beautiful, with an amazing shower.

The evening meal was good too." See all these reviews: 6n in Namibia; 6n in South Africa

"Final Stop-over"

1 night Arrived 26 Oct 2012
"To be honest, this was just a stop-over to ensure we were in close-range for our flight back.

As such, I have no complaints at all. The food is good, the rooms are fine (although ours was a little noisy in the day, being in close proximity to the back alley and main gate).

There was a strange problem with the lighting circuit, which meant the lights dropped to 'brown-out' periodically - rather ironic after two weeks in remote camps with not a flicker." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Lovely place to stay for a night on the way through Windhoek.

Nadia seemed to be on duty 24 hours a day and was most helpful and charming, serving us a delicious breakfast at the ridiculously early hour we needed.

We ate at their sister restaurant next door which was excellent, if a little grand. The food was first class but the portions were enormous - warning to fellow travellers, skip some of the courses or die !" See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana

"Excellent welcome at the OliveGrove"

1 night Arrived 7 Oct 2012
"The jacarandas were in full bloom as we arrived at The Olive Grove after the short drive from the airport. Our large fully equipped room was very comfortable though the colour scheme, olive, took a little getting used you.

We were made very welcome here with nothing too much trouble. We decided to eat in and sitting in the courtyard in the warmth of the evening after the cold of the English autumn was a delight. The menu was not large but had sufficient choice. I opted for the kudu steak which though tasty was not the tenderest piece of meat I had eaten, kudu can be a bit like that, but full of flavour.

Breakfast as in nearly all the places we stayed in really set us up for the day with loads of fresh fruit, breads, rolls, cold meats, cheeses as well as a variety of cooked items.

We returned to The Olive Grove at the end of our Namibian tour and this time we were given a room with a bath, the first we had had for three weeks so we both had a very welcome soak!!!!!

A ten minute walk took us into the centre of Windhoek where we were able to do some last minute shopping for gifts though it is not a very touristy town and one can do far better in the craft markets in Okahandja if you don't mind the hassling.
We can certainly recommend The Olive Grove as an ideal location to start and finish a Namibian holiday." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Olive Grove review"

1 night Arrived 2 Oct 2012
"The location is farther from town than anticipated (and using a pre-arranged car isn't cheap), but Olive Grove's peaceful garden setting is a solid trade off.

Our room was very spacious and, like the public spaces, handsomely appointed." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia
