"A luxurious stay so close to the airport."

1 night Arrived 25 Apr 2017
"We stayed just one night here which was a shame as the game is abundant, the accommodation luxurious and the spa treatments excellent.

The food was good but the service was the worst we had experienced in the entire trip with waiting staff having a very different, aloof attitude to guests that we had not encountered before. This was the only negative point.

The massage therapy was inexpensive (compared with UK prices) and of a very high and professional standard.

This must be a wonderful place to spend a long weekend if you live locally or in S Africa itself." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Lovely last stay"

2 nights Arrived 6 Dec 2016
"A wonderful place to stay for the last two nights of our trip. A huge room, beautifully appointed in the manner of an international hotel. Set on a lovely private estate, the facilities of this spa are extremely good and whilst not a 'wilderness' experience or a camp it is certainly a good place to stop for a couple of nights' luxury before facing a long journey home.

Facilities include a large swimming pool on a lawn with a view over a large area of bush and more distant mountain. The bush is a well-stocked game conservancy and our binoculars therefore got more use than the Kindles!

We did go on an excellent sun-downer drive with a number of other guests, and whilst the conservancy is somewhat managed, the variety of wildlife is impressive - we saw game here that we had seen nowhere else on this trip.

Food at the resort was excellent, and the dining facilities offered both indoor and outdoor seating.

Only an hour's drive from the airport, this was a great place to end our trip" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana

"The perfect end to the holiday"

1 night Arrived 19 Oct 2016
"Gocheganas does what it says on the tin. It has a lovely spa and a fantastic swimming pool. One night here at the end of our holiday provided us with some rest and relaxation after all our travelling. It is also only a 1 1/2 drive to the airport so an unstressful end to our holiday.

The food is good but the place has a slightly corporate feel so I wouldn't recommend staying any longer than 1 night when there are so many other beautiful lodges to stay at." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Excellent lodge, great accommodation & staff"

1 night Arrived 19 Dec 2015
"Gocheganas was a great place for us to start our holiday, not too far from Windhoek after our flights. The accommodation was huge and luxurious, with beautiful views - our boys (9 and 5) had an annex to themselves!

The food was great and the staff were very friendly - it was a lovely place to introduce ourselves to Namibia. We went on one of their safaris and saw Giraffe drinking and a couple of Rhino before sundowners watching Giraffe.

The swimming pool was great, although kids are only allowed to use the outdoor pool, which wasn't really any hardship." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"A wonderful first night stop"

1 night Arrived 11 Sep 2015
"It was a perfect introduction to the lodges we would be using during our two week stay.

Fantastic views, lovely chalet and excellent bar and restaurant area. From our chalet balcony we saw Giraffe, Buffalo, Ostrich, Springbok.

Definitely should have stayed more than one night." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Unexpected peace 30km south of Windhoek"

1 night Arrived 13 Mar 2015
"This makes a great place to stop either on your first night or your last night in Namibia. It's about an hour and a half from the airport with the last part on a gravel road but it's worth it. A spa on top of a hill in the middle of the green Namibian countryside, with exceedingly comfortable rooms, good food and amazing wildlife. Unless you are totally jaded, take the evening game drive.

We did and saw warthogs, wildebeeste, giraffe, eland, meerkats, a fish eagle, zebra, harfebeest, kori bustard and moorhens. The driver was quite apologetic that we failed to find the rhino! We stayed only one night but two would have been better. There is a very smart swimming pool, massages available or you could just sit on your balcony and look out over the umpteen hectares of greenery, trying to spot the giraffes!" "Gocheganas Lodge & Spa review"

1 night Arrived 20 Jul 2014
"Reasonable distance from the airport (approx 1 hour ) which made this perfect for our last night before our flight home. We had a hot stones massage which was wonderfully relaxing, very good dinner and went on an early morning drive before breakfast.

Armstrong our guide was very knowledgable and took us around the very large game ranch where we saw meerkats amongst many other game! The rooms are very nice - we had a lovely sunken bath and outdoor shower (our favourite). The pool and spa areas are very good, and the views from the terrace and bar are great."
