"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

3 nights Arrived 20 Apr 2019
"We stayed in the apartment. It was in a great location by the seafront.

Very comfortable and spacious with everything we needed.

Rated good as Swakopmund as a whole was fine but not the Africa we expect." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"A welcome stop in Swakopmund"

2 nights Arrived 12 Apr 2019
"Cornerstone Guest House is well situated within easy reach of all attractions and restaurants in Swakopmund.

The room was comfortable and breakfast excellent. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.

We took a day's trip with Turnstone tours to Sandwich harbour and can thoroughly recommend this especially for bird enthusiasts. One thing to note however is that drivers cannot always reach the harbour due to the state of the tides. Luckily our driver managed.

We ate at two restaurants - The Tug.......good food and very quick service if you are in a hurry(!) - and The Secret Garden.......a bistro type restaurant with really great pizzas." See all these reviews: 2n in Namibia; 1n in South Africa

"Very nice retreat"

3 nights Arrived 7 Apr 2019
"We had a very big room with a sofa in. We looked into the garden and it was very quiet in the night. The owner served breakfast every morning and gave informations what to do.
We went out for dinner two times in the Altstadt just across the street. very good food and not too expansive. First night we had dinner at the strandhotel. Was also nice." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Comfortable and Friendly"

1 night Arrived 26 Mar 2019
"We were here only briefly -- a single night at the start of our journey. The room was fine -- clean and comfortable. The location was good -- within easy walking distance of a good lunch spot (The Village Cafe) and a lovely dinner spot (The Tug). The staff was extremely friendly, and helped answer many of our questions. The breakfast spread was lovely, although we were in a hurry to get to our morning activity so couldn't linger too much to enjoy it." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 9 Feb 2019
"Good, clean, convenient, well run, excellent breakfast.

Day trip to Sandwich Bay was really good. Lovely drive along the beach and a bit of dune bashing. Beautiful Bay surrounded by dunes. Huge numbers of flamingoes and Guide was knowledgeable and made it interesting, but we were put off with his unrequested views on the 'fact' that the whites had in no way taken any land from the local tribes in SA and Namibia.

Astonished by the huge Chinese harbour development work at Walvis and their road structures into the mining areas in the hinterland." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Excellent Guesthouse"

3 nights Arrived 23 Jan 2019
"We spent 3 very nice nights at The Cornerstone Guesthouse and Peter (the owner), Ramona (front of house) & all of the staff were charming, helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

We were less impressed with Swakopmund as a town but this was just a personal view.

We eat at 3 restaurants....The Jetty 1905, The Tug, and The Fish Deli...all were good...& we’d recommend all 3." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Great place on the coast"

2 nights Arrived 28 Nov 2018
"Cornerstone Lodge is great.

Peter is very friendly and helpful, and provides a hearty breakfast each morning. We were given great recommendations for restaurants and for excursions, all of which was organised for us by Rowena (I am not 100% sure we are remembering her name, but think it's Rowena!) She was extremely helpful and friendly, despite clearly being kept very busy by some other guests! We ate at the Tug, and then we also ate at the restaurant at the end of the pier the next night. Both were amazing, with excellent seafood and drinks.

We would also like to recommend Oryx Aluminium Canopies. We had rented our car from Bushlore - who we would also like to recommend, and had an issue with the toyota hilux rear hood cracking from bouncing around on the gravel roads. We were contacted within ten minutes of reporting the issue, and told to drop off the car there whilst we did our morning activity, and it was returned to us as good as new!" "Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 21 Oct 2018
"The service from the owner and staff (especially Ramona on reception) makes this guesthouse stand out.

The rooms and bathrooms are lovely and clean and set around a pretty garden (except for room 7 which is next to the car park so not as good) with everything you would want. The service was excellent - they couldn't have done more for us or been nicer. We returned from a morning kayaking with seals to find that our afternoon activity (dune buggies/sandboarding combo) was all booked as well as our evening dinner reservation - we had failed to get into the Tug restaurant (book well in advance) but were recommended the Fish Deli which did lovely sushi - it was a great recommendation. Also of note are the excellent breakfasts to classical music - we all agreed these were the best breakfasts we had in Namibia.

Location is excellent - walkable to everything including dune buggies." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia
