"Oyster Box Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 7 Mar 2022
"We were welcomed warmly in arrival by the new manager of the property (only one week since taking over). He helped us to orient ourselves (places to eat etc) and helped with our luggage.

The room (comfort with partial view) was clean and comfortable but lacked the extra little things that would lift this to another level (no kettle, hairdryer etc). Wi-fi was good though across the whole property and sufficient for live streaming. The view of the lagoon was also good and secure parking very welcome. Breakfast was good with cold / continental breakfast choices followed by cooked breakfast options.

A good measure of this property is how they dealt with the one issue that occurred whilst we were there - we turned on our tap one evening (after dinner) and found that we had no water. The manager immediately came to check and resolved the issue within just a few minutes, explaining the cause to us and ensuring that all was well before night-time. They then called the plumbing company to make sure any underlying issues were also solved (not just the immediate issue). This, and the friendly attentive service we received hopefully bodes well for a property that has had relatively negative reviews in the past and with just a little care and attention to the rooms, may well lift this above average." "Oyster Box Guesthouse"

3 nights Arrived 8 Jun 2016
"Good location overlooking the lagoon and a short walk from the Raft.

Compact room with no tea and coffee facilities although this was remedied immediately when queried with the staff.

Staff were very helpful. Secure off street parking.

Breakfast was poor so much so that on our last morning we skipped it and drove to the Village Bakery in Swok." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Oyster Box Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 11 Feb 2016
"Solitaire is worth a visit en route to Walvis Bay. Poor welcome from Oyster Box, avoid downstairs room smelt of damp. Good secure parking as not safe to leave car in side street. Average lunch at Yacht Club. Drove around lagoon towards Pelican Point. Thousands of Flamingoes, Avocets, Cape Teal and others.

Raft Restaurant good location but poor service, average food, expensive. Reception (Alexia) made a complete muddle of our Dolphin Cruise, never informed us of departure time. so missed our breakfast. It was with Sunsail Catamarans an old dirty poorly maintained catamaran. Life jackets only supplied to children. Beware snappy seals on board.

Much better dinner at Anchors, delicious inexpensive food with charming waitress." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia
