"Pelican Point Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 10 May 2024
"Fantastic location, a stark contrast to the arid Namib Rand that we left behind.

South Atlantic waves crashing against the sands, populated by seals, jackals, flamingoes & pelicans.

Kayaking with seals was memorable.

Awesome spot not quite matched by the staff, who tried hard, the accommodation (in need of updating) or the food.

An energetic new manager had started 2 weeks earlier & she has plans to turn around a potentially fabulous & unusual spot. Investment needed which we were told is available." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Amazing place, highly recommended for anyone who wants to do something a bit different. The location is incredible and the service whilst low key is superb. We were the only guests. Lunch on the beach. Fire and candles lit for dinner.

They are painting the lighthouse so it should look better soon than it did!

Seals in 1000’s!

We upgraded ourselves to the watch tower. Incredible (but noisy in the wind and the light goes round so anyone who sleeps lightly wouldn’t enjoy it!)" See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia

"Pelican Point Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 31 Aug 2023
"There was a hiccup with our pickup for the journey to Pelican Point. The manager Keith was helpful and kind.

There was one set of other guests for the first night and just us for the second night. We took an upgrade to the honeymoon suite on the top floor with its excellent views. It was a bit chilly and windy to spend much time out on the roof terrace but this would be lovely in warm weather.

We enjoyed spending time with the seals and flamingos, and the sheer isolation. The chef was very friendly and the food was very good." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Pelican Point Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 20 May 2019
"we arrive by taxi and we organized with them a halfday to sandwich harbour at a specific price. At the hotel, they want to charge a far much more price...without any reason!!
we have very light lunch and they charge as if it was a normal one...but we asked for oysters and they got it.That was great!!
but ocean suite is gorgeous even if WIFI wasn't possible upstairs
and there are really no reason to have so few time for electricity ( not enough time to put devices in complete charge)...they just need to have more panels !!" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were extremely helpful in every way and we loved the location, great walks along the beach.

The food was excellent, rooms very comfortable, and service very good.

We also loved the morning kayaking trip with Naude and Katja Dreyer, it was a definite highlight of our trip." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Fascinating place, really different and unique. Nice to have a chance to walk in cooler weather for a day.

Worth spending a bit of time in Walvis Bay too where birds were amazing.

Some people might find the rooms lacking in privacy." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Fabulous location, rooms and food"

2 nights Arrived 3 Mar 2015
"If you intend to drive yourself, make sure you have some sand experience in a 4x4 as it's easy to get bogged down at the turnoff. Once there, you are in a different world. Dirk has done an amazing conversion job on the old lighthouse keepers' living quarters, next door to the lighthouse. We saw pelicans, jackals, flamingos, seabirds and more Cape Fur seals than we could count - amazingly relaxed and easy to approach quite closely. The owners were there at the same time as us, and when you see them treating the public living spaces as an elegant home it's very easy to do the same.

Great food, great location. All the rooms look great - we stayed in the one nearest the lighthouse, on the first floor - windows at each end mean we got amazing sunrises *and* sunsets. Don'r go expecting lots of activities - it's an hour's drive into Walvis Bay and, really, why would you bother? Come here for the peace, the wildlife and the sense of relaxation that comes from such an amazing location. Fabulous." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia
