Our Namibia Trip 2019
Namibia and 1 other country between 2 Apr 2019 and 15 Apr 2019
The wildlife, and especially birdlife, is magnificent. Our days before and after the train were also well organised and enjoyable and we can thank suggestions from Expert Africa for that."

The food is terrific and vegetarians (like us) are well catered for. The staff are friendly and efficient, and how many companies can say that their chief executive (Mr Rohan Vos) meets their customers at the end of their journey.
Mr Vos is a real train enthusiast and the company is a family affair which takes the personal touch seriously. We would gladly look forward to our fifth trip with them."

Cornerstone Guesthouse
"A welcome stop in Swakopmund"
The room was comfortable and breakfast excellent. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.
We took a day's trip with Turnstone tours to Sandwich harbour and can thoroughly recommend this especially for bird enthusiasts. One thing to note however is that drivers cannot always reach the harbour due to the state of the tides. Luckily our driver managed.
We ate at two restaurants - The Tug.......good food and very quick service if you are in a hurry(!) - and The Secret Garden.......a bistro type restaurant with really great pizzas."
Coast and Sandwich Harbour
"Great excursion"
13 Apr 2019 • All-day excursion
The driver was very knowledgeable about both. However, it is worth noting that drivers cannot always reach the harbour due to the state of the tides. Luckily our driver managed.
City Lodge OR Tambo
"City Lodge OR Tambo"
However, it was not particularly enjoyable. The hotel is gloomy and slightly depressing. There was no hot water, no post box for posting letters/postcards home (found in the airport), and the cafe/restaurant did not open until 6am which means if you have an early flight you have no breakfast.
The restaurant's menu was very restricted and poor, and had almost nothing that a vegetarian could eat."
As we settled in we saw Wildebeests, Kudu, and an incredible variety of birdlife. We recommend any wildlife enthusiasts to take a taxi to the main gate of the reserve and walk one of the well signposted routes.
On our walk we saw Giraffe and Blue Wildebeests, and too many birds to recount here! We thoroughly enjoyed it."
