"Perfect base for Swakop"

2 nights Arrived 8 Apr 2015
"We couldn't recommend the Cornerstone Guesthouse highly enough.

Fantastic service - within 5 minutes of arriving we were checked in, and restaurants booked for us. They even gave us a mobile phone for the duration of our stay, programmed with contact numbers for assistance. Rooms are bright, comfortable and clean. Breakfast very good too." "Comfortable and convenient"

3 nights Arrived 18 Jan 2015
"Cornerstone Guesthouse was ideal as a base. The hosts were very helpful and booked our Walvis Bay trip for us. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful and the location is good for the town. It was grey and windy in Swakopmund and even rained a little. The room was small although the little porch area was good and the bathroom spacious and with v good facilities.

Worth noting that the jetty has been renovated and The Jetty restaurant is very good (at least as good as The Tug which is mentioned in all guidebooks). The Swakopmund museum is worth visiting even though it is quite old fashioned in its style. Overall, in the post-Xmas season, everywhere was very quiet.

The boat trip out from Walvis Bay was well worth taking, as aside from the seals, pelicans and cormorants that join passengers on the boat, the crew (with a woman skipper) talked knowledgeably about the Chinese investment in the port facilities and the related infrastructure. In the afternoon, using the same company (Mola Mola) we went on a land rover trip out to Sandwich Harbour, previously a large fresh water lagoon but now lost to coastal erosion. Again a very knowledgeable guide, who had lived and worked in the dunes for years, and was able to show us the insect and small mammal/reptile life, as well as the inevitable dramatic dune driving." "A Gem!"

2 nights Arrived 10 Dec 2014
"This is real gem of a guest house - good location, generous sized rooms with small private veranda, very helpful staff, good breakfast choice, neat small garden, good security, and free Wi-fi.

Interestingly, later on our trip we met two other parties who had also stayed at Cornerstone (and highly rated it) and another couple who were booked-in. Very popular - best to book well in advance." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana

"A really lovely and convenient B&B."

1 night Arrived 20 Nov 2014
"The staff at Cornerstone were extremely helpful, they suggested restaurants for dinner and helped us to book a dune buggying activity (which was fabulous!) the next day. They also provided us with a mobile phone during our stay which was invaluable.

The B&B itself is extremely comfortable and in a very central location, breakfast was good and it was a very convenient place to stay in Swakopmund before the next leg of our journey.

This is not a reflection of the B&B itself, but I would not recommend staying in Swakopmund for more than a day/night unless you have specific activities arranged. We didn't find much to do in the town itself, and didn't find it particularly pleasant to wander around." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana

"Seaside Comfort"

2 nights Arrived 8 Nov 2014
"This comfortable guest house is ideally situated to explore Swakopmund on foot.

The owners were very helpful and managed to book tables at The Jetty and The Tug restaurants even though it was the weekend. Tip if you want to shop avoid the weekend as most shops close by Saturday lunchtime. The museum is worth a visit." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia
