"Not a good experience"

1 night Arrived 13 Sep 2016
"This hotel is nicely situated but it is very basic. The room we were allocated had a most awful smell and although this is not our normal custom we had to ask reception to change our room. The entrance of even the new room was off an ugly yard area.

It seemed as if as most of the rooms opened onto a courtyard so we had to close the curtains fairly early for privacy.

Dinner was fine although the napkins were so flimsy and tiny they were barely useable. Our waiter, Eric, was excellent. We could not charge the dinner to our room.

A buffet breakfast was included and the choice was expansive even with some meat and salad with feta cheese but there was little service unless one asked for help even though 3 waitresses stood and just watched. Perhaps there is a management issue. The next day at about 10 a.m. there was no toilet paper in the guest toilets.
Beds were comfortable.

Maybe it was just that the hotel was far less expensive than the others we stayed in and not sure if there is anything better in Keetmanshoop." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 4n in South Africa

"Good for Namibian town life"

1 night Arrived 20 Jul 2016
"Small hotel in the middle of town. The accommodation is not luxurious but it's quiet and more than adequate. Really enjoyed the beer in the courtyard when we arrived!

We liked this place as it gave us a feel for Namibian life as the restaurant was used by locals as well as tourists.

Walking round Keetmanshoop watching Namibians going about their daily lives was also informative." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Central Lodge"

1 night Arrived 30 May 2016
"The room was clean, the staff were helpful however there was no hot water in our room either in the evening or the following morning. On complaining to the management we were advised that it was a problem with the town mains and that she could not wash either, which as you can imagine was a great comfort to us after our drive from Windhoek. There was no offer to provide hot water from the kitchen.

That said the beer was cold the soup and pizza were great." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

The hotel rooms are a little `tired` but the overall impression of the place with its court yard, restaurant ,and staff was very good." See all these reviews: 22n in Namibia

"OK"

1 night Arrived 8 Feb 2016
"Description of our room as "luxury" was presumably because there was a jacuzzi in the "suite" (which we didn't use). The hotel is centrally situated in Keetmanshoop, which doesn't have much to recommend it as a town.

There was a bit of a frantic air in the hotel, with presumed members of the management marching up and down through the restaurant area and barking a few instructions to staff. We wished we had eaten more calmly and comfortably in the garden, which is a very pleasant area.

We visited the Quiver Tree Forest on our way to the town - well worth the short diversion." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia

"Good place to stop over on the way south"

1 night Arrived 4 Jul 2015
"Definitely the simplest accommodation of our trip in all regards, but perfectly adequate for what it is, as Keetmanshoop seems to be a stopover town.

The highlight is definitely the sunny central courtyard. Rooms are very basic, but clean and tidy. Easy drive to the Quivertree forest." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia

"Good stopover point"

1 night Arrived 7 Jun 2015
"Location very good in centre of the town. Quiet and secure although very busy.

Food and restaurant excellent. Rooms a bit cramped but well equipped. Service and staff generally good although we had a bit of delay getting our bill on departure but management quickly stepped in.

We would recommend this as a stop over or for a longer stay." See all these reviews: 28n in Namibia; 5n in South Africa
