"Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch review"
The landscape is stunning and there seems to be a lot of wildlife roaming freely around the property. We enjoyed the spa treatments, which were very good and the dinner outdoors by the open fire. Service was perhaps too professional, but maybe a bit too rushed for those on holiday who prefer to eat at a more leisurely pace and enjoy the ambiance. Breakfast was fine, but the food on the buffet in particular could have been of slightly better quality.
Also, the lodge was the first on our entire trip that really wasn't very interested in catering for my dietary needs - disappointing having had such thoughtful and considerate attention to them in all previous lodges.
Still, it was a nice place to stay between Fish River Canyon and Windhoek and to spend our last afternoon & evening. They also had the best (quality and variety) curio shop of all the lodges we stayed at." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia

Superb game viewing on horse back.
San walk was exceptional.
Food delicious.

Although it was nice to see the tame animals around the lodge and to see the orphan cheetahs being fed, it did feel a bit like an open range zoo rather than a truly wild nature reserve. The food was adequate, though somewhat mass produced.
As well as the wildlife on the list (as noted below) we were pleased to see bat eared foxes, golden tailed mongoose, springbok, steenbok and kudu." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia; 5n in South Africa
"Super Sundowner"
Also, the lodge does a good astronomy lesson given by Panda who was also our great guide on the drive.
Good but not exceptional food and some of the staff could have been a little more engaged." See all these reviews: 26n in Namibia

Wish we would have spent another night so that we would have done an outing with their guides in their private park..
Their dinner was one of the best we have had.Excellent food and atmosphere.
Their shop was oustanding. A wide range of beautiful items, reasonably priced. I did not find the equivalent anywhere else.
Highly recommended." See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia

It is the place to see meerkats up close in namibia, and also a nice place for a night drive.
The food is also very good." See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia

The desert chalet we had was well designed with a lovely view.
The game drive was decent enough but it was made by seeing the cheetahs close up at the end." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia
"Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch review"
We were in a dune chalet which had lovely comfy chairs on the decking where we could sit and watch the wildlife both at the water hole it overlooked and the kudu wandering past eating the bushes.
The main building has one of the best shops we came across with plenty of variety of both souvenirs and more practical items such as hats for sun protection.
There was a barbecue the night we stayed with a good variety including 3 different meats which were all very tasty.
We did the cheetah feeding which is you in the back of a truck watching the guides get out and feed the cheetahs (who cannot be released into the wild) & it was both informative and a good way to see these beautiful animals up close." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

Concern for the welfare of the oryx with cropped horns who was in the car park when we arrived." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia
"Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch review"
Our chalet (Desert Dune One) was superb, spacious and with all amenities you could imagine, including even a deep claw-foot bath tub with a view over the bush and a waterhole. The main building was large too and there were animals: an oryx, a kudu and some springbok that came right into the premises by the swimming pool! Dinner was three-course and quite formal, but very nice indeed; though it was very busy with every seat occupied (including some people wildly coughing away behind us), so we relocated to the lounge area with our desert as soon as it arrived.
We didn’t have any activities pre-booked but were lucky to get two places on the cheetah-feeding and sundowner tour. This was really excellent, again better than expected and a very nice final wildlife activity before our last stop in Windhoek.
Glad we had this place included – it certainly is much more than a “Bagatelle” (something trivial). Here we thought we could have had an extra night – and pre-booked extra activities. Maybe next time." See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia
