"We were driven to Sossusvlei with various stops to take picture and hear explanations of the scenery. He also made sure he stopped by the better loos!

When we arrived at the foot of Big Daddy, Lukas made sure we all had sufficient water. 7 went up Big Daddy and 1 to Deadvlei. When we got back down, we were the first there so Lukas drove us to Sossusvlei to keep cool under the trees while he went to fetch the rest of the party.

The table was beautifully laid and the food delicious. Afterwards he gave us a talk, drawing pictures in the sand, which was excellent.

We stopped on the return for a talk on fairy rings and then went on to the canyon, which was OK, but not memorable or particularly photogenic!" Read more about this whole safari

"We had a full day excursion to Sossusvlei with Inos (apologies for probably getting the spelling wrong) who was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide.

This was a great way to see the dunes and desert and to understand the small living things in the desert and how they survive. It included an excellent lunch.

"We thought it would be too long a day but it was just right and hugely interesting. Lucas was an informative and chatty guide who seemed to know his stuff and was also a very good driver and lunch host.

The dunes were awesome but we probably shouldn’t have attempted to climb Big Daddy, guilty of over confidence in our 70 year old lungs/hearts!
