"Well worth the detour! Lovely lodge, wonderful rooms and excellent bed.

Our guide, Lazarus, was enthusiastic and very informative. The drives were wonderful - very scenic and great animals.

Lovely views from the terrace with our sundowners. Breakfasts and lunches were very good but the main courses at the evening meals were a bit disappointing.

Wilfred was very kind when our car had a flat battery, due to us leaving lights on! He got it jump started and we were on our way within 20 minutes.

All in all Kalahari was one of my favourite areas."

"Wonderful welcome with friendly waves, cold flannels and cold drink.

Our rooms were spotless and comfortable. Food was excellent. We went on an all day trip with Lukas to Deadvlei and Sossusvlei. He prepared an amazing feast for us all in the shade at Sossusvlei, then went into great detail about the history and geography of the area. Very interesting.

I was trying to book a restaurant for the following night in Swakopmund and the owner was particularly helpful, actually ringing the restaurant and asking for a good table!

They could not have been more helpful and kind."

"Very good welcome, very spacious rooms (they actually gave us 3 double rooms!).

Walkable distance to restaurants. Breakfast perfectly adequate with lovely omelettes.

Even had electric blankets on the beds - very much appreciated!"

"I don’t think excellent covers how good this place is!

We arrived at the air strip and Jakes arrived within 10 minutes. We left our car and he drove us to Onduli where we were met with cold flannels and a sumptuous lunch - which we were not really expecting! The food throughout was 5*.

The service from all the staff was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. I had left my mobile in our car at the airstrip so Jakes went back specially for it. Sundowner location was spectacular. Sundowners generous, with great nibbles! The pool area was beautiful.

Our all day excursion of that part of Damaraland was wonderful. Jakes told us about the plants, scenery, animals and rock art. It felt like a trip into a fascinating land where we came across animals rather than a trip to chase animals. We had a great lunch in a completely deserted valley.

One night they wheeled our bed out and we slept under the stars with hot water bottles and extra blankets - what an experience. The rooms are cleverly located so one can’t see another room."

"Great tent with fantastic location next to the main eating/sitting area.

Food was very good with excellent service. Our guide was Nico who was a good driver and had great knowledge.

The 5 drives we did were very varied never covering the same area.

We went into Etosha on one day, which though interesting, was not as interesting as the drives within Ongava."

"Very poor greeting. Offered an iced tea which was warm! Slight confusion over who was dealing with us. No one person ever seemed to be in charge.

The first lunch we ordered a glass of white wine which again arrived slightly warm and we had to go and get our own ice. Food was distinctly patchy.

Our rooms were excellent as were the drives.

A bit too manicured for our taste but it produced some wonderful photos.

Good safe parking, good greeting. Very comfy beds.

Access to a very good steak house, just across the car park.

Nice place to have evening drinks. Good breakfast."
