The leopards were elusive, but our guide was intent on finding them until we succeeded.

"This wasn't originally scheduled for us, but we made a last-minute change to go here (to reduce driving on bad roads to the far north).

This was more of a mass tourism roadside stop and not so much an experience in itself like everywhere else stayed.

It was adequate but crowded and unexceptional. No internet during our two-day stay. Food and service were mediocre.

The best thing about the place was the evening music by a local group.

We drove ourselves to Etosha for one day where we saw a wide variety of wildlife."

"Our longest stay of the trip was three days at Ongava and worth every minute.

We spent a lot of time at the hide where we observed the steady close-up coming-and-going of numerous antelopes, elephants, giraffes and rhinos.

When we weren't in the hide watching animals, we could see them from our dining room perch over the waterhole.

Our on-foot trek to find a couple of rhinos was among the highlights.

Staff and guides were excellent. The room and our deck were perfect."
