"Great location. Poor service and food."

2 nights Arrived 29 Oct 2013
"Wonderful location. But regrettably let down by poor staff and average food. Clearly no manager in charge. Room safe was missing. Other guests complained of no hot water and sewage smells.

Excellent day out with guide tracking elephants." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Stunning setting & magical elephants"

1 night Arrived 6 Oct 2013
"This really was an incredible place to stay and we wished we could have been there 2 nights rather than 1 but availability just didn't allow it. The location is nothing short of spectacular and the rooms laid out amongst the boulders are equally impressive. The sundowner spot was also incredible.

However, none of this could compete with the trip to see the desert elephants. It was truly magical, so many elephants and a five week old baby as well. They were completely relaxed with us being there and we followed them for a considerable distance, watching them feed and seeing the baby pick a fight with his elder brother. We were surprised about the relatively small cost charged by Mowani for this trip - we would have paid more!

The one small point we'd make is that the staff were a little stiff at this camp - possibly because this is a high-end camp and it would be nice if they relaxed a little." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Pure luxury at Mowani"

1 night Arrived 28 Sep 2013
"Disabled persons review: There are a few steps to access the dining room which might have been awkward but the staff were more than happy to lend a hand. The path up the hill for sundowner was well paved with the odd step.

Despite being more expensive and luxurious than other lodges we stayed in, it remained relaxing and very friendly.
Loved the outside shower next to our room (actually a large luxury tent) and we left the curtains open at night so we could wake to the fantastic view. The room, patio and of course the outside shower were completely private.

Great sundowner a few yards away on the top of a hill giving lovely views and photographic opportunities.

I can't praise this place enough - worth the money - and we are definitely going back." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 9n in South Africa

3 nights Arrived 18 Sep 2013
"Sundowner location was excellent, with good drinks service! Charles was our waiter for the final two days, and helped make our stay very enjoyable.

Elephant trip was fantastic. Organ pipes / rock paintings trip is better to do by yourself.

Beautiful place! We loved our stay. Three nights were perfect. We would certainly go back!" See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"Wonderful situation and ambiance. Service in the restaurant was a little patchy. Excursions were very interesting and finding the Elephants a highlight. Excellent dramatic scenery. We spent 3 nights here - 2 would have been enough." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Mowani Mountain Camp review"

1 night Arrived 13 Aug 2013
"The lodge is located in a beautiful setting and the each tent was private.

The rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable bed and clean bathrooms. The sunset area, pool area and dining area are inviting. Services were good. The only big drawback was the plumbing. When we flush the toilet, there was the sewerage back up/leaking stink in the room and around the tent, lasting for 20-30 minutes!

We were wondering if we were placed in a particularly "undesirable room" because we just stayed for one night. From behind a pile of rocks in Sossus Dune lodge to Sewerage leaking in Mowani lodge." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia; 1n in South Africa

"Mowani Mountain Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 7 Aug 2013
"In our room allocation, the junior suite was inferior to the double room -
(1) the shower and wc were only outside . With the cold weather, we couldn't take a morning shower.
(2) the junior suite did not have a terrace with a view at all compared with the double room which had a nice terrace with a good view
(3) The food was disappointing
We expected much more from this Camp" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia
