"Klipspringer at dawn"

2 nights Arrived 3 May 2010
"Jaap was a delightful guide - relaxed and enthusiastic for the animals and landscapes of Huab. Our favorite part was getting up for an early walk with Jaap, fueled with Rooibus tea and lovely homemade bread, and seeing a Klipspringer silhouetted on a rocky hillside in the first light of the day.

I also found the hot springs to be quite the right thing to visit at the end of the day and loved getting to it via a path cut in the tall grass alongside the bank of the Huab River.

If you are driving yourselves, as we did, it is best to be aware that the road in from the highway is about 30kms. The road is fine but don't be in a hurry - there is much to enjoy in the scenery on the drive." See all these reviews: 22n in Namibia

"Excellent lodge short on game"

2 nights Arrived 18 Oct 2009
"This was a very pleasant and hospitable lodge set in magnificent mountain and valley scenery. Unfortunately it was at the end of a long drive in along a dirt road which was at the limit of a small 2WD following heavy rain. The food was excellent with a choice of two main dishes and good but different wines provided with each meal.

The area was short of game apart from over six hundred oryx, although we were provided with the spectacle of a rock python attacking the lodge dog. There were at least four species of rare succulent plants growing in the grounds." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana

"Huab is the Place to Relax and Enjoy Namibia"

5 nights Arrived 4 Jun 2009
"We chose Huab Lodge as the place we most wanted to stay for our 40ieth Wedding Anniversary based on our previous two enjoyable visits. We were not disappointed as Jan and Suzi and staff went out of their way to make it a very special event for us.

We really enjoyed the early morning walks with Jan as it is not often that you get the chance to travel on foot while on safari in Africa. The morning and afternoon drives kept us well occupied during the day. Game viewing includes animals such as zebra, kudu, oryx, and a wide variety of birds, but don't expect to see the abundant variety of wildlife seen in places like Etosha Park.

Huab is a great place to relax and enjoy being in Africa!" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Huab Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 20 Jul 2008
"Spacious clean rooms, well laid out lapa, excellent food and good facilities. The management team were welcoming and good hosts with a great sense of humour.

The overall experience was let down by the quality of the guiding and the drives which compared poorly with our experience at other lodges." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Huab Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 16 Nov 2007
"What a lovely place. The owners were very welcoming, there is a real sense of being in a place together with friends rather than a paying guest. Everyone was introduced and dinner and breakfast were eaten together. At dinner one feels like a guest of the owners, rather than a tourist.

The rooms are large with a fabulous view and you immediately feel at home. Huab isn't a great place for spotting game, but there is plenty to see including some game and numerous birds. Jan and the other guides are very informative without being overbearing and there is a lot you can learn from them.

A good introduction to the more northern parts of Namibia before reaching the more vibrant game in Etosha." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Huab Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 26 Oct 2007
"This was another memorable place. everything was brilliant and the wine certainly flowed freely (literally and metaphorically)

We were looked after very well by all staff but especially Hermann and Joop.

If there was a criticism it is the relative paucicity of game." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia
