"A bit too far from attractions.
An oasis ...beautiful , charming and intellectual
Nice activities and friendly atmosphere.
Great nature guide and fabulous dinners.
Individual attention and special care.
It was a wonder that with all that this place has to offer
Our shower wasn't working well and we woke up both nights because of sewer smell." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Unfortunately Jan and Suzie were away at Swakop so missed the chance of reunion but the other guests here were good company especially Johann (resident well-being expert)

Drought conditions meant that animal sightings were limited." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Huab Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 16 Oct 2012
"A warm welcome at Huab,a great place to relax which gives the feeling of being at home as soon as you arrive ,

.Jan and Suzi great hosts with lots of knowledge to share and opinions and information on all sorts of subjects.Sadly Yap was away having a new hip along with the chap who did the massages. The guide tried hard, but did not have the ease of Yap during the morning walk and the drive. But more oryx and small game than on my previous visit. There were not many other guests, well 2 one night and 3 the other 3 of whom had no English,so the meal was not as convivial as it may have been, but the food and wine were delicious and generous.

I think the decor in the rooms is maybe a bit tired, which is fine by me,but maybe a younger clientel may find it a trifle dated.

a bit of a niggle on the booking,I did discuss the package they have which they have which included the game drives, which I decided to have, and was on the invoice. I admit to not checking the voucher before I left,so we had to pay again when we were there because it wasn't on there.

Beautiful view fro the room, birds mountains and super stars." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Nice to be back with friends."

2 nights Arrived 21 Sep 2012
"Huab Lodge has a lovely relaxing and peaceful atmosphere surrounded by hills and trees.Jan and Suzie and their staff are the most welcoming of hosts and the bungalows are cleverly designed to take full advantage of the position.

The food is the best we have experienced and Jans personal selection of wines is a bonus.

There seems to be more game than when we visited before, unfortunately the guides english was poor. Jan's morning walk however, should not be missed. This is full of information and anecdotes and his knowledge of wildlife is encyclopaedic." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Huab Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 21 Aug 2012
"After the amazing accomodation at Dolomite, first impressions of Huab was that it needed a bit of a refurb, but the warmth of the welcome makes up for what it lacks in luxury. Accomodation was spacious, comfortable and clean. The food was very nice, with home cooked food and lovely home made breads at breakfast. We had lots of fun at dinner, as we all dined around one table - it was declared UN night, as there was so many nations there. Everyone was especially lovely to our 5 year old, making him feel very welcome and showing him photos of giant snakes.

It was lovely to be able to walk out again after days in the car in Etosha, and we stayed in the Lodge's grounds for the day. If I was going to be critical I think the Lodge could do more to sort out some walking routes and maps for guests instead of encouraging guided walks and drives. I understand why it's done as it is, it just seems that there's a lot of untapped potential there for making Huab a walking destination." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Everyone should experience Huab Lodge"

3 nights Arrived 17 Feb 2012
"A wonderful place to visit. The family-style dining is so enjoyable and makes one feel at home.

Jan, Suzi and all their staff are excellent company and do everything to make their guests comfortable and welcome. Excellent guiding by Jan, plenty of nearby places to stroll to around the lodge and enjoy seeing birds, lizards, various insects and plants and the most superb bungalows in which to enjoy comfortable relaxation and privacy.

Some people might be disappointed not to see lots of game but anyone with wider interests in plant-life, smaller animals and geology would enjoy being here." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Huab Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 23 Sep 2011
"Our hosts Jan and Suzi were delightful and interesting people. Huab Lodge's facilities are beautiful and tastefully decorated. Our bungalow was wonderful. The food was wonderful and the family-style meals enjoyable. Steve's vegetarian meals were the best of our three week trip, thanks to Suzi.

We participated in sunrise walks and nature drives led by Jan. The location is somewhat remote but the area is beautiful and serene. Wildlife included oryx, kudu and steenbok but desert-adapted elephant sightings are rare. We enjoyed watching a pair of yellow-billed hornbills doing a courtship display in a tree."
