"Lianshulu Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 2 May 2009
"This was the least pleasant of our lodges. It was a little impersonal compared to the other lodges we had been to. We also felt that we were being pressured into taking the game drives and river cruises.

By the time we got here we had taken many cruises and game drives so had an idea what sort of price to expect to pay but were shocked to find that Lianhulu charged on average at least FIVE times what everybody else charged.

The lodge was beautiful and the food was good." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Lianshulu Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 21 Feb 2009
"Returned after a period of eleven years and did not recognise the place. Vastly improved with a very impressive main lodge area and the individual chalets to a very high standard. The staff and food were excellent .

The evening boat ride and game drive were well guided , but the viewing was dissapointing and the price of both was far higher than at Ndhovu and later in our trip at Mazambala so if you are not on an all inclusive rate be aware.

The Camp staff were prompt and efficient in sorting out the border formalities both going and coming back from our transfer to Botswana. which was great fun by speed boat. Another unprompted car wash which was great as the amount of insect life that had died on the front of the car and windscreen was enormous." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana

3 nights Arrived 12 Oct 2008
"Fine location on river but not a lot to see while we were there from our deck or from the viewing platform .

Drives and river trips with excellent guides made up for this but NB Mudumu NP is nowhere near as big as Etosha so if you are there for three days you tend to cover the same ground more than once. No provision for self-drive game viewing (cf Mahango)" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Excellent drives, service, accom. and food"

3 nights Arrived 1 Aug 2008
"While we enjoyed Lianshulu it did not match Lagoon and the quality some guides was not as good either (no one's pesonal fault and no names)

In retrospect it was more like a rest after the non-stop excitement in Botswana. I think we stayed a day too long.

Although you can go on the river, frankly river cruises can be boring when you see the same things repeatedly. This is subjective because we appreciate the lots of people are seeing them for the first time.

Our drives were however very good indeed - one morning saw us ticking the most species of bird and animal seen in a single outing! And we found the largest spider I have ever seen!!! (A real highlight for Tony that one)

Service food and room were excellent." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Lianshulu Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 12 Jun 2008
"Lianshulu Lodge seems to be frequented by larger groups from the States with only few remaining private travellers. It took almost ten minutes for somebody to show up at reception upon our arrival while staff was listening on a lecture about the regions history given to the group travellers. We thought the boat rides were more enjoyable than the drives, mind you, after heavy rains in the wet season, grasses were unusually tall and game difficult to spot." "Lianshulu Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 21 Nov 2007
"This was a very nice lodge - the rooms were very nice, the staff was friendly and professional.

The activities were well run and the staff strived to ensure guests' enjoyment.

Our only negatitive is that we felt the day to be too structured for our tastes (although other guests may enjoy this aspect). We didn't have much autonomy to do anything on our own. Activities, breakfast, lunch, and dinner were at precise time everyday, with not much freedom to do anything else." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Space, grace and peace on the Kwondo"

2 nights Arrived 26 Oct 2007
"Another Wilderness Safari house and what a difference! Lianshulu is the perfect example of what Kulala is not - and should be. Its physical circumstances help, of course - a small number of guests, plenty of open, airy space and a policy of unhurried, relaxed but efficient organisation.

Here we were almost entirely in the hands of Tertius, the 'front of house' manager whose good humour, good sense and concern for every detail of our comfort and our curiosity was exemplary. Food, accommodation, activities were all first class. Our one regret of our programme, really, that we had left so little time for the Caprivi, the Kwondo and the Okavango - and, of course, never a sniff reserved for Botswana. We'll have to come again. Perfect." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia

"This is a fantastically comfortable lodge with a lovely position. There wasn't much to see though in the park( maybe we were unlucky) but our guide was excellent, warm and friendly. Everything ran very smoothly there, including our transfer to Kwando Lodge." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Good place for 40th wedding anniversary"

2 nights Arrived 30 Sep 2007
"Unknown to us daughter had contacted lodge and we were greeted by manager Tertius who wished us a happy anniversary and a pleasant stay and arranged special evening for us. We had one of the suites for accom which was excellent especially the 3 elephants on the opposite bank as we arrived at the room.

Pleasant and well run lodge - good sundowner boat trips - loads of elephant hippo crocs" See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia; 5n in Botswana
