Another memorable trip
Namibia between 26 Jul 2015 and 7 Aug 2015
It was the first time our daughter and son-in-law have visited Namibia the they found it thoroughly enjoyable. In particular they were highly impressed with the breathtaking landscape and stunning wildlife."
River Crossing
"Ideal for relaxing after the journey"
Okonjima Plains Camp
"An excellent camp"
The hospitality was extremely good and the food was very well presented. The view room was very well equipped and had stunning views from the picture windows.
Would recommend the game-drives, this must be one of the only places in Namibia where there are high probabilities of seeing leopard, cheetah and wild dogs.
The educational work carried out by the Foundation is to be commended"
Okaukuejo Camp
"A brilliant water hole"
Of the two chalets, we preferred the Bush Chalet to the Waterhole Chalet, which was less spacious and was in need of a re-fresh. The food was very good value and the staff friendly and helpful.
Early morning game drive (in late July) proved quite cold despite having ponchos provided. It also proved less productive than self-drive excursions.
The water hole was a key attraction and didn't disappoint with up to 5 Black Rhino, a pride of Lions and Brown Hyena being seen."
Doro Nawas
"An anxious few hours"
As agreed with Expert Africa, the following afternoon we transferred to Camp Kipwe for the second night where again the staff were extremely accommodating. Camp Kipwe itself was very attractive though quite different in character.
The situation of both lodges was stunning.
We have graded both lodges below as excellent, however our overall experience was influenced by the upset caused by the mix-up over the booking."
Central Guest House, Namibia (this camp has since closed)
"Well placed for exploring the coast"
Secure parking was an added bonus.
A formal welcome on arrival, even though this was after dark on a Sunday, would have been appreciated.
The dolphin cruise, by Laramon Tours, was very well organised, informative and enjoyable. The shuttle service from the Guest House to Walvis Bay was helpful."

Namib Outpost
"A true wilderness experience"
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the chalets were of a very high standard. The food was also excellent and very well presented. It was hard to believe that the Homestead Outpost had only been open for a couple of months. All credit to Henri, the manager.
The Outpost is only 30 minutes or so drive from the entrance to the Namib Nauklaft National Park."
Eningu Clayhouse
"An ideal stop-over"
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, but would benefit from a refresh. In the morning there was no hot water available to shower with, perhaps the solar heating system needs attention.
The hide and small waterhole were an added attraction though we weren't lucky enough to see the porcupines that often come during the evenings.
The food was very good and well presented.
Unfortunately the jacuzi wasn't working properly at the time of our visit."
Memorable
Namibia and 1 other country between 13 Aug 2008 and 29 Aug 2008
Fifteen days was not long enough to take it all in.
Suggestions for improvement:
We can't think of anything."

Waterberg Camp
"Waterberg Camp review"
Halali Camp
"Halali Restcamp review"
However it would be beneficial if parking of vehicles on the route to the water-hole could be discouraged as it was at times intrusive and seems unnecessary."
Namutoni Camp
"Namutoni Restcamp review"
It is difficult to imagine more comfortable chalet accommodation."
Nkwazi Lodge, Namibia (this camp has since closed)
"Nkwazi Lodge review"
Very welcoming and enjoyable stay in a relaxed atmosphere.
Very good to learn about the work being carried out to support the local community.
A pity we didn't have a longer stay."

Ndhovu Safari Lodge
"Ndhovu Safari Lodge review"
We couldn't have got closer to the wildlife that we'd come to see.
The owner and staff were all very friendly and easy to get on with."

The staff were all very helpful and worked hard to ensure that we had a great time."
