"Hakusembe Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 13 Jan 2012
"The rooms here really do need some updating. The furnishings are dark and old fashioned whereas now people like a white and fresh look to places. We spoke to the new co-owner, Andreio of Gondwana, who told us that he has only just taken over and plans are afoot to completely renovate. Edison our guide was great on the evemig boat trip, very knowledgeable on birds and being the only customers we learnt a lot from him. The dining facilities also need freshening up and this is going to happen apparently." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Hakusembe Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 14 Oct 2011
"Comfortable lodge with excellent staff and food. The Eland steak that I had here was the best meal of the holiday.

The rooms are set right on the river providing a beautiful location. We only stayed one night here and didn't go on any organised excursions.

We appreciated having a fridge in the room to keep our water and milk cold." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia

"Hakusembe Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 4 Oct 2011
"Hakusembe very much has the feel of a place where people stay for one night, which is probably the case. One felt rather processed, and the owners didn't seem terribly interested.

The evening boat trip was an exception, and our boat captain was enthusiastic and knowledgeable regarding the interesting birdlife along the river.

The pool though usable was a haven for wildlife, especially mosquitoes, and perhaps needed a little more attention.
Lovely setting on the banks of the river." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 8n in Zambia; 2n in Botswana

"Hakusembe Lodge"

1 night Arrived 15 Sep 2011
"We all really liked it at Hakusembe, sadly, for others, the manager of many years is about to retire. The rest of the staff were all very pleasant helpful and efficient.

4 of us had cottage rooms, and we had the 'honeymoon suite' and we were all very happy with our accommodation, we were a bit concerned about the chemical toilet in our room, but it was an unnecessary concern as it all worked very efficiently. The sunrise and sunset on the river were wonderful." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia; 2n in Zambia
