"A great holiday"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 22 Jul 2010 and 8 Aug 2010
"The first week on safari was great, the second weelk in Zanzibar was good but not as good as the first week. We will not be recommending Breezes to any of our friends. Serena Hotel was great." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 9 on a Zanzibar holiday

"Let down by Breezes"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 10 Jul 2010 and 21 Jul 2010
"A really good trip overall but Breezes was very disappointing

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

As stated above. The holiday was not cheap and we did not think Breezes was worth the money we paid for it - definite budget hotel. Had we known, we would not have gone for a resort style hotel but opted for something smaller without the facilities as the facilities at Breezes were less than satisfactory." "So happy with this trip"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 6 Jul 2010 and 21 Jul 2010
"This was a completely wonderful holiday - exceeded our very high expectations.

Was so pleased I used Expert Africa: good advice at every stage, and so we got a trip that was just what we wanted. It was obvious that all the staff members I spoke to had first-hand experience of the camps and so could really help with our choices, and were very helpful talking through what we needed to consider.

Thank you.

These travellers subsequently wrote to us:

As you see, we really did have a fantastic holiday, and are extremely pleased that we used Expert Africa to help us get the trip we wanted. We realised while we were away how good your advice had been, and that we had a more "adventurous" holiday than I would have confident booking without that advice.

Not all the other people we met while we were away felt they had such a good experience with their own agents. This was often because they had taken a package deal so had little if any choice of camp and hadn't not known what to expect, through a variety of people with small problems changing onto internal flights at Dar Es Salaam, to some people who had been routed through Johannesburg during the World Cup and found themselves with nowhere to stay!

We were happy to mention Expert Africa as we really felt that the whole trip was very well organised and just what we hoped. The two camps in particular were so welcoming especially to the children - before we left, so many people had told me how brave I was to take my kids on safari that I had started to wonder whether it really was a sensible decision, but they loved it, learnt so much and felt included in everything we did." "Great safari in some beautiful lodges"

I visited Tanzania and 2 other countries between 5 Jul 2009 and 20 Jul 2009
"Driver ( Martin) was particularly good. However, unlike nearly all other vehicles , this one did not have sun canopies.

We had a problem with flights at one stage and tried ringing the Sunvil '24 hour helpline'. I rang 10 times and left at least 3 messages but never received a reply. In the end i had to ring Claire on her mobile early in the morning to get help." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 5 on a Tanzania safari

"Fisherman"

I visited Zanzibar between 19 Feb 2009 and 4 Mar 2009
"The Fisherman drivers were professional, smartly dressed with an adequate level of English, and were good, safe drivers. The vehicles were clean and well-maintained. The drivers all arrived punctually at the agreed pick-up times.

I was disappointed that I had to initiate the arrangements for the transfers from all three hotels. Particularly at the ZCH, the receptionist spent an entire morning trying to contact the Fisherman office (on the two numbers provided by EA) to arrange my pick-up to the airport. Although the telephone numbers were ringing, noone was picking-up. In the end the receptionist called Mr Ali's emergency mobile. If pick-up times had been agreed between EA and Fisherman, I was unaware of them. I suggest transfer times are included in the itinerary letter you send to customers prior to departure to avoid any confusion." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zanzibar holiday

"Wonderful holiday - both bush and beach"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 17 Feb 2009 and 4 Mar 2009
"Claire and her colleagues at Expert Africa were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in putting together our package of safaris and beach holiday. In both camps our excellent guides had to use all their skills to find the game in such dense bush and over such large areas, but find it they did.

The sightings were excellent, the animals and birds less skittish than we expected, particularly in Ruaha, and the weather much drier and more settled than might have been at this time of the year. The Safari Camps and their staff were excellent in every respect, and we had the comfortable and relaxing time at Breezes that we hoped for – a great holiday, and we can't wait to return."
