"Kisiwa On The Beach review"

6 nights Arrived 20 Jun 2024
"Kisiwa could be an amazing place to stay for a holiday. The staff, service, facilities and beach/location are all top notch and no complaints there. However, if you enjoy quality food on a holiday, this place is not for you. The food is below average and we found ourselves looking forward to going off resort to enjoy our lunches/dinners.

Additionally, when the booking was made, we were told water, coffee and tea are included in your stay. However, we quickly learned that only 2 300ml bottles of water are included per day. It seemed ridiculous to us that we had to pay for a bottle of water at every meal.

Additionally, the bar and a la carte (for purchase menu) is extremely over priced ($30 USD for a cocktail for example)." See all these reviews: 6n in Zanzibar; 4n in Tanzania

"Kisiwa On The Beach review"

4 nights Arrived 30 Oct 2023
"Kisiwa On the Beach is set in a beautiful location, right on a lovely sandy beach. The villas have plenty of space between them and there is a large pool.

We stayed in Villa 1, which is described as a Beach Villa with sea view. However, it is situated about 70 m back from the beach and is adjacent to the hotel restaurant. The sea view was partially obscured by trees and shrubs. Villas 2 and 3 are much closer to the beach and so have better views. Villa 3 is closest

The Managment were having problems with a new design for the roof of their restaurant which let in copious amounts of water when it rained hard and the wind blew. They coped admirably by offering room service on the first night and then sweeping water away and shifting chairs and tables into dry patches for the rest of our stay; the manager assured everyone this problem would be sorted as soon as the roof was remodelled.

The staff were well trained, friendly and helpful. The food was generally very good, fresh and plentiful, although the deserts were a bit disappointing.

Our room was very spacious and clean. Minor issues with a leaking loo were sorted quickly." See all these reviews: 10n in Tanzania; 4n in Zanzibar
