"Xanadu Villas review"
All of the food was absolutely exceptional and they were very flexible with the menu and were happy to adjust things. It was nice having the option to dine in different locations whether on your sundeck, by the main pool or on the beach, though at times this was slightly too windy.
The beach is very pleasant to walk along down to see other resorts, and when it is low tide being able to do a reef walk was very interesting. The sea temperature was very warm, however unfortunately it was very windy during this period, so wasnt too pleasant to swim in due to the large amount of seaweed.
We went on a snorkelling trip, sunset cruise which were both very good, and it is nice that your butler comes out on the excursions with you, as it allows a closer bond to be formed. We also did a day trip to Stonetown which was very enjoyable but a long day with the driving.
Our butler Lissu was absolutely amazing, and on hand to sort everything out. It was a novel experience having a butler, and it really felt like he went above and beyond with his service.
Overall our time at Xanadu was fantastic and one of the best hotels we have stayed in. It made for the most peaceful relaxation following safari" See all these reviews: 8n in Kenya; 6n in Zanzibar
"Xanadu Villas review"
We didn’t leave the resort, other than to walk along the beach as it have everything we needed right there.
Enjoyed having our breakfast brought to us in our private lounge, served by our butler Abel, and using our private plunge pool. Well stocked Smeg fridge was a bonus! The pool area and restaurant is stunning.
We did however feel that the spa prices were ridiculously expensive and we may have used the spa if the prices had been more reasonable.
All the staff were friendly and attentive." See all these reviews: 11n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar
"Luxury Holiday Villas"
The villas are extremely well appointed and private. The beautifully landscaped gardens make for a peaceful atmosphere. All the individually designed villas are secluded and very private. Although there are lovely communal areas, as you have your own private pool...and your own butler, as well as large rooms and a separate living area, you could easily have a wonderful holiday here without being recognised.
Although we had a very pleasant stay here, it is not the sort of place I would normally stay at. I enjoy meeting other people and hearing their stories, and I felt that Xanadu was encouraging the sort of holiday where guests prefer privacy and not mixing with other guests.
A beautifully designed and appointed place for a luxury holiday." See all these reviews: 10n in Tanzania; 2n in Zanzibar
