"Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 4 May 2013
"Much as Expert Africa had advised me, this lodge does not get good marks. So it was as I expected.
I guess the decor looks tired and the staff seemed to have little training on how to deal with customers.

Only thing different to what Expert Africa told me was that there was supposed to be a well stocked library, when in fact they had no library, not even a magazine in reception to look at. This was not a problem for me, just an observation. They did however have a television running, which must have been satellite TV as people where watching football.

My biggest surprise is that they had no shop, one would think that they could sell shaving foam, camera batteries or postcards at a huge mark up in price and that they would maintain a few items at reception, but there was nothing.

Its location is however great, the views over the crater would be as good as any of the high quality lodges on the rim." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania

"Wildlife Lodge - The view is all"

2 nights Arrived 19 Sep 2012
"The views from the terrace and from our room were simply excellent - just what one would want - an awe-inspiring vista of the crater floor. However, the hotel is rather tired and the service slap-dash and rather off-hand. The vagaries of the electricity and hot water supply were a little disconcerting and unhelpful when one has a very early morning game drive.

The requested gluten-free meals were not supplied in the breakfast and lunch packs taken out on all-day game drive.
Our guide was critical of the hotel regarding the accommodation provided for guides; he really did not like being at this hotel at all.

To see the crater was on our wish list - it was great, but probably would not choose to return." See all these reviews: 11n in Tanzania

"Comfortable medium size lodge, amazing views"

2 nights Arrived 11 Aug 2011
"For a reasonably priced and conveniently located place to stay with amazing views into the crater we'd recommend this lodge.

Rooms are comfortable, hot showers, food reasonable and staff helpful. It is a lodge though so a little impersonal.

No electricity from midnight to 5.30 am which won't be a problem for the majority of guests. Two nights are ideal." See all these reviews: 6n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar
