"I had a private driver called Ayoub for 9 days.
He was exceptional, I have done about 15 safari holidays and he was the best
The game viewing was outstanding.
I chose middle range lodges as I was out in the 4x4 from dawn to dusk.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
The book on Tanzania and the travel guide that Expert Africa sent to me was not expected and was a nice touch"

"The only reason that I chose this lodge was that it had a gym and I could maintain my training in the evenings. However their gym was not open.
It was equipped with 19 pieces of brand new Technogym machines. Far better than you would find in most city center hotels, but not open yet.
Also not open was the internet room, which did have 10-12 brand new PCs waiting to be used and there was a space where they were to open a much needed boutique shop.
So going forward it will have those facilities, but for me it was a huge disappointment that I could not use the gym.
The hotel was also overrun with Rock Hyrax, a gentle little animal that behaves a bit like a guinea pig, but they are on all the common areas like the stairs and pathways as you walk to dinner - seems odd that leopards do not come and take them each night."

I guess the decor looks tired and the staff seemed to have little training on how to deal with customers.
Only thing different to what Expert Africa told me was that there was supposed to be a well stocked library, when in fact they had no library, not even a magazine in reception to look at. This was not a problem for me, just an observation. They did however have a television running, which must have been satellite TV as people where watching football.
My biggest surprise is that they had no shop, one would think that they could sell shaving foam, camera batteries or postcards at a huge mark up in price and that they would maintain a few items at reception, but there was nothing.
Its location is however great, the views over the crater would be as good as any of the high quality lodges on the rim."
