"The Manor"

4 nights Arrived 26 Sep 2012
"The Manor reminded us of Cape Dutch South Africa. The buildings were beautiful and the gardens were gorgeous. Everything was pristine white with manicured lawns. The service was one of the best.

It was lovely to sit in the living room in front of a fire in the cool of the evening, hearing soft music. You felt like you were in another era. The attention we received in the Manor and in our room was fantastic......we were very pampered. The food was European with Tanzanian accents. Every dinner was different and superb. They a wonderful assortment of African wines that were delicious. The Manager, Mr. Rogers and the staff were excellent.

We would definitely return here." See all these reviews: 34n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar

"The Manor review"

4 nights Arrived 30 Jul 2012
"Rooms and general hotel facilities excellent. Landscaped grounds a delight. Restaurant staff very attentive and friendly. Nice personal touches such as returning to our room after a long, dusty day to find our bath drawn and covered in fragrant petals and the wine on ice.
Hotal manager very nice - made an effort to speak to us every evening.

Highly recommend a trip to the Empakai crater - need a full day but amazing views and sense of exploration. Also great to drive through masaii area totally unspoilt, unchanged and not commercialised.

Access to the hotel from the main road was a real pain - 30 minutes drive along a very dusty and ungraded dirt track with huge potholes. This became tedious over our three day stay.
Swimming pool too cold to use - shame as very pretty

Food reasonable but a little disappointing - quality and presentation lacked the flair expected from the hotel description.
Location good for Lake Manwara but a long drive to the Ngorongoro crater (this was made clear to us before departure)." See all these reviews: 9n in Tanzania; 5n in Zanzibar

"The Manor review"

1 night Arrived 9 Jul 2012
"It was a bit over the top. It was more formal than Gibbs Farm and was run not quite as efficiently as Gibbs Farm. The food was excellent and the service good, but rather formal.

The swimming pool was cold and nobody about to help us.

As with Gibbs Farm, itt was a long way from the main road." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania; 5n in Rwanda
