"Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge review"

4 nights Arrived 27 Jun 2024
"This was more of a large hotel experience and thus very different from the other camps we stayed at.

That being said, the Lodge was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the food good." See all these reviews: 14n in Tanzania; 4n in Zanzibar

"Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 15 Feb 2024
"The place was beautiful.

The dinners were delicious but unfortunately one of the dinners made us both sick. Nothing long lasting however. If I had to do over again, I would have preferred to be at one of the lodges along the crater rim.

We were not able to get into the crater as early as we wanted because of internet issues at the entry to the park." See all these reviews: 9n in Tanzania

"Ngorongoro Farmhouse Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 29 Aug 2023
"Ok. The rooms were fine.

The management weren’t very helpful if you had an issue. The other staff were pleasant enough, and the food average.

The location is ok for access to the main gate for Ngorongoro crater.

The gardens weren’t as special as I had hoped. We did have a tour of the coffee production by a lovely guy.

Good for stop over but in hindsight we maybe wasted a day here as we stayed 3 nights. 2 probably better." See all these reviews: 10n in Tanzania

"Plunge into the African atmosphere"

2 nights Arrived 17 Oct 2020
"We had our first contact with the true African atmosphere here, Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and it is a true farmhouse, it is nice to walk through banana plantations and all kind of flowers and vegetables. We enjoyed very much the BBQ on the terrace in the evening.
It is pretty close to the Ngorongoro crater (although not inside)." See all these reviews: 8n in Zanzibar; 6n in Tanzania

"Well-established and well managed Lodge"

2 nights Arrived 12 Nov 2019
"This is a much larger venue which offered walks around the grounds and is more tourist orientated.

Although everything was catered for it was more impersonal and our chalet a little 'tired'. Also a cuckoo was singing all night (both nights) and although you could hear it right through the camp nobody did anything about it." See all these reviews: 12n in Zanzibar; 8n in Tanzania

"Great accommodation, grounds, staff and food.

Really enjoyed staying here. the grounds are amazing and it was great to jump into the pool after a dusty game drive.

Rooms were huge and well appointed." See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania

"Fabulous setting on Coffee plantation"

2 nights Arrived 9 Sep 2019
"A beautifully located lodge in kitchen gardens with a view up to the crater escarpment. A lovely terrace for drinks. A large restaurant serving buffet food, good quality and choice. Staff entertainment, dancing and music pre dinner.

A lovely pool if there is time to use it.

Rooms spacious and comfortable with water cooler/heater (slightly annoying as noisy), terrace with glass doors.

Great bird watching on the colourful flowers and trees." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania

"Tranquil and very convenient"

2 nights Arrived 27 Jun 2019
"It is really well situated for a swift drive to the Crater and avoids all the mist that some of the lodges on the rim can experience. I really liked the very colonial feel to it with the coffee plantation and extensive and delicious vegetable garden which provides such wonderful produce.

The rooms are huge and we really appreciated the offer of a fire and hot water bottles in the bed as it was not that warm when we were there at the end of June.

The dining room and buffet was excellent and the quality of the food very high." See all these reviews: 13n in Tanzania
