"This was a good choice for a stopover to recover from the travelling from LHR.

"This was a lovely relaxing place to stay after the long flight.

"The Slipway at last !"

"The location of The Slipway, being on the coastal edge of Dar. city, is ideal if you want to be away from the hustle of the CBD. However if you've had long hours of flying to eventually get to Dar, then the two hours of traffic congestion and pot-holed roads to travel from airport to hotel should be considered before staying here.

"Decent value hotel for 1 night stay, rooms are clean and the restaurants are really nice just outside.

"Old world charm on the waterfront"

"Lovely location overlooking the sea with good shops and restaurants attached but well over an hour from the airport in the busy traffic- just 20 minutes after midnight!

"Comfortable hotel to relax and acclimatise to Africa after overnight flight from London. A great pool with views onto the sea - the kids loved it!

"The Slipway, nice restaurant by the Ocean !"

"Not that long drive from the Airport , probably we were lucky with traffic .
Room very simple but clean and spacious. The only downside was the rather small bed .
The location is excellent , inside a complex with plenty stores to do some late minute shopping and nice restaurants overlooking the Indian Ocean. We had a very good dinner right at the water with a great sunset !!

"Room was fine - to a good standard one might have expected from a 'western' hotel. The service could only be described as 'occasional' at the best with requests for selected room items not met promptly e.g kettle not working and replaced after multiple requests. Breakfasts were miniscule and poor quality with service by uninterested staff. Would not stay there again.
Slipway 'resort' itself rather tired with only saving grace the Waterfront restaurant with good service and food. Things at the hotel improved with the discovery of an Italian manageress who got things moving, Local staff basically need a well aimed rocket!
