"Great room but poor service - disappointing"

1 night Arrived 14 May 2018
"Very contemporary and spacious room. However, our stay was badly let down by the attitude of the unwelcoming staff. They need to realise that providing an excellent and stylish room is not enough. It was a very unfriendly stay and much needed customer service training needs to be introduced here!

Despite this we booked for dinner here on our last night, as the Elegant Guest House did not provide dinners and it was nearby. However, on arrival we discovered that they had not reserved a place for us and we were abruptly told that dinners were exclusive to those staying at the Olive Grove." "The Olive Grove a luxurious start to the trip"

1 night Arrived 12 May 2018
"Staff at the Olive Grove were lovely. The accommodation was excellent and the food was great however it felt a little like a captive audience as the premises is in a quiet residential area.

We did ask for a map of the surrounding area and were provided with one and directions to get to "town". We walked to this area and there were a couple of other restaurants and Joe's Beer Bar but it didn't feel right to aim to eat there and walk the distance back as evening was drawing in.

This said there was a good choice on the menu at the Olive Grove and the food was very tasty" See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Olive Grove Guesthouse"

2 nights Arrived 18 Apr 2018
"Well-sited and secure. Service excellent and rooms well-equipped if functional in design - never seen a concrete bath before!

We added dinner to our B&B on each stay here and all meals were excellent, with breakfasts having a 'worldwide' choice. Lots of really nice special touches - the breakfast menu has an outline of main features of Windhoek as well as mini map, after dinner a complementary mini carafe of port and a couple of chocolates - nice small touches.

Staff extremely friendly, efficient and informative" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Olive Grove review"

1 night Arrived 10 Apr 2018
"Good hotel for first night, clean, comfortable and friendly helpful staff
Delightful meal on their external terrace.
More detailed directions would have been useful, due to unfamiliarity, made a couple of errors in finding it!" See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Olive Grove Guest House"

1 night Arrived 7 Feb 2018
"The Guest House is fine. The rooms and food are good.

What is very bad is the swimming pool area. The surrounding smooth tiles had, we were told by the manager, been freshly "varnished" that morning. As a result they were extremely slippery when wet with water.

My wife duly slipped and fell, breaking her arm. We advised that a sign should be placed to warn of this hazard. Upon our return two weeks later no action had been taken, and the manager was unconcerned. The tiles surrounding this pool are of completely the wrong type." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Great Windhoek base"

1 night Arrived 10 Dec 2017
"Great Windhoek base.

Incidentally we went walking down to Windhoek town center the day we arrived and were told by the Namibia tourist police to stop walking and go back to our hotel. We sensed someone had been following us. So travelers should be aware of this - particularly on quiet days." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia
