"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"
Room was spacious, bathroom even more so. Impressed by the international electrical sockets. Lovely gardens and generally relaxed atmosphere. Good supermarkets and restaurants in the town and safe to walk around after dark which added to the enjoyment.
Whilst here, Expert Africa arranged a 'Day trip to Sandwich Harbour' about which these travellers commented:
Delightful Day in the Dunes
Probably the best day of the whole trip, which is saying a lot. Ernest from Turnstone Tours was enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable, skillful and seemed genuinely pleased by the group's enjoyment. Part of the wonderful experience was walking along the Skeleton Coast (seeing a jackal on the way), climbing up into the dunes and enjoying the solitude while Ernest went back for the Landrover (and our boots). He picked us up, drove on a bit more and then stopped for an impressive lunch before taking us back to see the flamingos and the pink salt pans. Great experience.
Enjoyed these dunes even more than those at Sossusvlei because we were alone, they seemed more remote because of the dramatic way the dunes met the sea" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

The staff were very helpful in advising and taking post while dealing with a problem with Budget, the car hire company. We had an excellent trip in Walvis Bay and the sand dunes while here. The restaurants in the town were also very good with a wide range of choice." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 5n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe

You are given one mobile phone per room with the ability to contact the owner in case of problems - nice touch ! (although Swakopmund, like the rest of Namibia, is so safe and crime free, these were probably unnecessary)
Not all rooms were equal - we had two rooms, one was half the size of the other.. no complaints, both were OK, just one room was better. The owner did point this out and give us the choice of who had which room." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia
"Good base for coastal Namibia"
Very useful drive in secure parking.
Centrally located for exploring Swakopmund.
In our opinion the breakfast was not as special as we read about, fairly average.
Good eating at Eriks and The Tug." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Gorgeous Cornerstone Guesthouse"
Really delicious breakfast in stylish dining room. Very friendly and helpful people, got lots of good useful info. We felt comfortable and at home. We had driven through Walvis Bay and were sorry that we hadnt booked one of the guesthouses on the Esplanade with great views across the bay, but Cornerstone was so special that we didnt regret our decision. Swak was great, nice beach walks, our boys loved the crystal museum and the snake museum." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

We had some difficulty but then found an excellent restaurant slightly out of the way at the Boutique Hotel" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia
