"Cornerstone Guesthouse was comfortable"

2 nights Arrived 7 Oct 2016
"This is located fairly close to both the town centre and the beach area and so was convenient for exploring Swakopmund. Room was clean and comfortable and the garden was pretty and well kept.

Just no 'wow factor' when compared to the other places we stayed in Namibia." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 25 Sep 2016
"Cornerstone was easy to find. It has a superb location, being only a short walk to the seafront and, importantly, to the top restaurants. The accommodation is both spacious and superb ... spotless. The owners are incredibly efficient and personable: Robyn and Peter in particular being very helpful. Breakfast is a very pleasant experience.

An excellent idea was the availability of an electronic fob giving us access to the property and to the private parking. In addition we were given a cell phone with preloaded emergency numbers for members of staff. Excellent service.

This was the base for a tour to Sandwich Harbour.

A place that one is reluctant to leave." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Cornerstone Guest house , ok"

3 nights Arrived 9 Sep 2016
"The Cornerstone Lodge was adequate, certainly the dining room was efficient in the mornings, breakfast good.

Staff were helpful

We felt the rooms were cold

These travellers also took part in the following activities whilst in Swakopmund and had the following to say:
Pelican Point kayaking:Loved it !
Jeanne was a brilliant guide who had thought of everything to make the morning a success.

Catamaran Boat cruise:
A good trip, though very cold.
Did feel that maybe blankets could have been provided..
We were kept waiting an hour before boarding
The sealion and pelicans on board provided entertainment!!" See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Cornerstone Guesthouse"

2 nights Arrived 6 Sep 2016
"Excellent position in respect of the town. Wonderful room and good food.

The owners are proud of their town and very friendly, and helpful with their advice and guidance of places to eat and things to do. E.g. we ate at The Jetty (The Tug needs booking weeks in advance for info) a very good meal, and we went to the museum which was very good too (we went back again after lunch).

We bought woolly wall hangings from the 'Karakulia' workshop; an experience in itself to see the artisans at work.

We left an ipod in the room safe and thought it lost. We drove on to our next lodge (Doro Nawas), and lo and behold it beat us there by hours; the owners had had it forwarded on a local flight. We were, and remain, very grateful for this excellent service." See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Cornerstone Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 22 Jul 2016
"Again a very positive experience of a guesthouse. Room was clean and well-presented, plenty of space and a very pleasant setting. Very helpful staff, who checked bookings for us and made dinner reservations etc. Plenty of suggestions of what to do in Swakopmund. Great breakfast.

We really enjoyed our time in Swakopmund which is a most unusual place and could have stayed longer as there were other things to do. (And we are not talking adventure sports!)

We organised a day trip to Sandwich Harbour for these travellers. They rated this as excellent, and commented:

Bruno is excellent! Absolutely outstanding. We were privileged to have Bruno as our driver/guide and we were with one other couple, one of whom was a professional wildlife photographer. It was an amazing experience from start to finish.

We saw so many birds and animals, the scenery was superb, we felt in safe and wise hands, even when we got stuck in the sand! Lunch was delicious.

We learned an incredible amount about so many different things." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 9n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia

"Again very nice and with helpful and friendly staff.
The Turnstone tour was very good, great leader, but unfortunately we couldn't get to Sandwich Bay because the sand dunes had moved into the sea due to the previous high winds but still a very good day. He certainly found us lots of wildlife and birds." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Delightful place in Swakupmond"

2 nights Arrived 5 Jun 2016
"Not realising there is a cold ocean current up the coast of Namibia, the drop in temperature and the fog as we approached Swakupmond caught us by surprise. However the guesthouse was a delight, easy to find, very clean and tidy rooms set in a beautifully maintained garden with excellent food.

Distances between lodges had required we stay in Swakupmond despite not really wanting to explore the big towns this time, however we found the local museum while there which took up a significant part of the day to explore, giving us a lot of the history of Namibia, the town and its businesses as well as information on the tribes indigenous to Namibia. A thoroughly absorbing, modern museum.

Here we experienced to only rain in Namibia, quite heavy overnight with lots of lightning. We picked up a lot of mud on the car the next day, which remained with us for the rest of the trip." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"It is a convenient place to stop. Guesthouse was very clean and the breakfast was very good. The proprietor was very welcoming and helpful.

Swokamund was a little bit disappointing but it was a convenient place to stop and look at the Skeleton Coast." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia
